Since I have an aversion to reading manuals, I am sure there are several features of this unit I don't use. HDTV is the best! Watching regular TV is nearly impossible now!

I bought this directv HD satellite receiver a year ago for my home theater and it has amazing video quality (blows the DVD player away). I can record movies in HD as well as certain TV shows.

The only problem I have with it is that he hard drive sometimes slows down and it takes a while to get to a menu or set it to record something.

[...] So much for being an early adopter.... but I am glad I bought it and have enjoyed it more than most of my other equipment (that I paid much more for).
