It's easy enough for my 83 yr old Mom to figure out the features. She said having the frame beside her at night with the slide show playing helps her to feel less lonely. Since I initially loaded 999 pictures into external memory, I suggested to her to use the internal memory for her very favorite photos. That way she did not have to scroll through all 999 photos to show someone a favorite. You can choose which memory you want the frame to view from i.e.: internal memory or multiple external memory cards. You can save a picture from external memory into the internal memory. Also with all the external memory card options, I recommend the Sony 17-In-1 External USB Memory Card Reader. Model Number- MRW62ES1181. This will allow you to use it for your telephone, MP3 Player, Palm or whatever else you own that has external card availability (as well as the photo frame).
Customer service helped me understand that only the internal memory loaded from my computer. I needed a memory card reader to load pictures to the external memory card I had bought.

A most outstanding buy for our first eframe. Very easy to upload photos and program display.
The stand could be a bit shorter to allow placement on ledges smaller then 7 inches wide.

The manual does not provide complete instructions for use.
After uploading 180 photo from my computer an error message is display that indicates the file could not be created. Memory was not the issue because I was able to add additional photos directly from a camera and from a thumb drive.

Bought this as a gift, put some pictures on it for the receiver and checked out the features: Plenty of choices in display: photo(s) alone, clock/calendar with/without photos, various transition schemes, easy to use, nice to view. Take your camera digital card and put it right into the frame, or plug the frame into your PC via USB and add pictures. The frame "knows which way is up," so if you rotate it from horizontal to vertical, the photos automatically rotate.
