I use this for general photograpy - travel pictures, family pictures, work events, and since it has a movie feature, I'm using it to document household belongings for insurance purposes. I've never used a digital camera before and I'm really impressed with how user-friendly this camera is. A quick survey of the manual gives you the knowledge you need in order to experiment with its multitude of settings. The 10x zoom is amazing. The software is easy to install and use, and once you connect the cable to your computer, any other photo software will pick it up so you have a choice. You might want to get a case and an extra battery (unfortunately the case marketed for this fits the camera snugly and has two pockets for SD cards, but no storage space for a battery so you might need a small storage bag for that and the cables. Two cautions: The lens cover looks delicate; be careful when taking the camera out of the case not to touch the lens cover. Also, the microphone is placed in such a way that you have to be careful when taking a picture not to cover it with your finger. I'm really happy that I bought this camera - it seems ideal for me.

I'm very new to digital cameras, and my film photography experience is limited to good auto-focus, point-and-shoot 35mm cameras. A pro might not be as impressed, but I am really pleased with this camera. Its auto setting does an amazing job, and it gives dozens of d.i.y. settings as well. The 10X optical zoom is a real deal in this price range and after a week I'm taking better-looking pictures than I ever have before. The software is as easy to use as the camera (although if you have other software it picks up data fine w/o the proprietary software - both Walgreens and Adobe open up to import if I want to use them). Directions are simple and straightforward for camera and software, and buttons, etc. are well placed, except for the microphone, which you have to be careful not to cover. This product far exceeds my expectations and I'm delighted with it.
Delivery was very quick - the usual Abt speed and efficiency combined with the usual Abt value. Great product and service from one of the easiest-to-use websites in captivity!
