Still getting to know the camera however at this point I am very happy I purchased it. I was initially looking for an SLR. However I did not want to spedn lots and lots of money till I was sure of my skills. This camera has lots of SLR like functions and abilities and will allow your to grow. Excellent LCD display. Great pictures. Low light pics with high ISO settings are noisy however. You will need to look at something like Neat Image for cleanup.
Definately would purchase this camera again if I had to do over.

I got this product 3 weeks ago. After weeks of extensive online research I decided that to buy the Sony H5. Overall, this is a great digital camera one step lower than a SLR camera. The 12x optical zoom is great feature along with the auto stabilization. The user interface is great very simple and easy to use with many features 9 (movies mode, action shots, iso settings, etc). The 3' inch LCD screen is hugh that was my major plus plus factor camera instead of the Canon S3 Is which has a tiny screen! This camera also has a great viewfinder so you can snap some shots and review the pictures without using the LCD screen.
The only CON i can think of is that battery life is low especially if you keep the 3' LCD screen on. so i recommend you purchase a backup pair of batteries.
Conclusion: buy this camera if you want a SLR-like camera but don't want to spend the money for a SLR.
