This is my 3rd digital camera. Takes great pictures and is easy for the non-mechanical people in the family to use. Started taking pictures right out of the box. Everyone wants to use it. Would have been nice if a memory card had been included.

I'm just starting with high quality digital cameras. My search had been for a digital camera with at least 5-X optical zoom, internal zoom features, and had to be very compact. THIS Is IT! ...finally!

Comments about Sony Sony DSC-T100 Silver Cyber-Shot Digital Still Camera:

I have done an extensive research and almost went with Canon Powershot SD 900. The reasons I picked T100:
1. 8 Megapixels for a small camera is mooooooore then enough. Sd900 had 12Mp - overkill
2. Cooler design for a t100
3. I used to have sony P10 and loved it for low light shots. T100 is great at it too, but you have to play with the settings (keep iso to 100, in which case you loose the face recognition and IS).
Cons of T100:
- At first the finger gets in a way of the lens. Not a problem in a day, but when you have someone on the street take the pic ... Just tell them to watch it
- To use it one handedly, I have to hold it with my thumb and index fingers and press the shutter button with my middle finger. Cannot use my index finger for the shutter. No big deal once I figured it out.

You'll have to play with it and get the settings you like, but you will not be disappointed.
