these terms.
When it comes to buying a CD recorder, it is important to know that there
are two different types of CD Recorders: Single-Disc and Dubbing CD Recorders.

The digital recording level feature allows you to manually adjust the
volume between the two discs. You can now listen to the recorded CDs without
ever hearing a volume change between songs.
This feature on most dubbing systems has two drawers where the actual
discs are inserted. This feature lets you record from one disc to
the other with out using any external sources.
High speed dubbing saves you time and allows you to record more songs
in an hour. Although this is a good time saving feature, it only works
on digital recordings (CDs) and not analog recordings (LPs or tapes).
Depending on the make and model there can be up to six different
jacks on a CD recorder: Analog Input, Analog Output, Optical Input, Optical
Output, Digital Coaxial Input and Digital Coaxial Output.

After recording, you can listen to your disc on your recorder with the
playback function. There are three types of playback functions available
on a CD recorder: Repeat, Program, and Shuffle. Depending on the make

This feature allows you to enter textual information onto each recording
track. With text labeling, you can put in the song title or the artist's
name on the CD for easy future reference.
