Wall air conditioners are very similar to window air conditioners with the exception they go in a sleeve in your wall and not through a window opening. Many older homes as well as apartments and condominiums have wall air conditioners because they were built prior to central air.

A wall unit is also a good choice for the safety conscious. If you prefer the safety of having the unit fit through a wall and not a window, the wall air conditioner is a great choice.
