Balancing the worlds of robust wear and refined styling, the new Series8 890 features a 42.6mm octagonal silver-tone stainless steel case alongside the best of Citizen's finishing techniques. Water resistant to 200m and able to withstand magnetic fields up to 16,000 A/m, the watch is powered by the high-performance Caliber 9051. The automatic movement is visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition case back and is capable of maintaining an accuracy of +20 / -10 seconds per day with a frequency of 28,800 v/h. Taken as a whole, the timepiece's superior technical performance perfectly matches its sports-driven style.

With its silver-tone stainless steel H-link bracelet and double set of crowns, the watch is ready for wear in any instance. Underneath a sapphire crystal, a textured green dial with a rotating inner dive bezel is as captivating as it is practical, being highly legible on account of its applied indices and the smart design of its hands. The crown at 2 o’clock controls the bi-directional rotating inner dive bezel that adds contrast alongside other details, with the highly legible dial playing wonderfully in the light, while a 3 o'clock date window adds even more utility to the design.

Each Series8 timepiece makes use of one of three Citizen mechanical calibers—each equipped with automatic functionality and enhanced magnetic resistance alongside a significantly thinner movement profile. These include the Caliber 0950 (870 models), the Caliber 9051 (831 and 890 models), and the Caliber 9054 (880 models).
