Hooker Furniture 6150-75917-99 Dining Room Linville Falls Shou Sugi Ban Server in Shadow

With the aura of a rustic mountain cottage, the Linville Falls Server has four wood-framed doors with seeded glass inserts and two adjustable shelves behind each pair of doors. Crafted of Pine Veneers, the Server has a charred black finish achieved through Shou Sugi Ban, a Japanese technique that creates a look resembling burnt wood. The interior is finished in Mink, a soft smoked gray. Textured metal par pulls are in an antique pewter finish. Capturing the essence of nature’s organic color palette and the aura of a rustic mountain cottage, Hooker Furniture introduces the Linville Falls collection. The whole home collection is designed for younger consumers looking for casual and contemporary furniture. Characterized by its rustic, weathered finish and clean lines paired with organic grain patterns, Linville Falls is constructed with split oak solids and veneers and has an overall organic aesthetic. It is featured in a soft Smoked Gray finish mixed with a Charred Black finish that is achieved through Shou Sugi Ban, a Japanese technique that creates an elegant burnt wood look. Its moderate scaling and fresh silhouettes offer a refreshing juxtaposition mixing old with new.

Features

Finish

  • Blacks (Shadow) - a charred black finish achieved through Shou Sugi Ban, a Japanese technique that creates a look resembling burnt wood.
  • Interior is finished in Mink, a soft smoked gray finish.
  • Textured metal knob pulls in an antique pewter finish.

Construction

  • Finish Construction: Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.
  • Frame Construction: Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.

Care & Cleaning

Some of our most unique styles are crafted with high-quality or specialty wood veneers over a solid or engineered wood substrate. Our veneers are hand selected to add movement to a piece while minimizing the risk of expansion and contraction found in some solid wood products.

  • Address spills immediately by wiping with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Use coasters, trivets, and placemats for protection against hot or wet items.
  • Dust regularly with a soft, damp cloth, followed by a dry one.
  • Spot clean as needed with a soft cloth and mild soap.
  • Do not use furniture polish, ammonia-based cleaners, or other chemicals as they will leave a wax buildup and will change the appearance of the wood over time.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, chemical solvents, strong detergents, furniture polish and cleaners with bleach.
  • Avoid lengthy exposure to direct sunlight (unless outdoor-specific items) as it may cause finish to change.
  • Always lift and carry, do not drag when moving furniture.

Footnotes

  • Some color variation in photos of our furniture finishes, leathers and fabrics is possible due to lighting and differing resolution quality on computer devices.
