Slide-In Ranges

Slide-In ranges are designed to provide a seamless integration with kitchen countertops and cabinets. Unlike a free-standing range, a slide-in range, as its name suggests, slides into a space in the kitchen cabinets, with part of the cooktop surface overlapping the countertops. This tight fit provides a custom look some users prefer, and also eliminates the potential for crumbs and liquids to spill down the gap between the range and the cabinets. The only downside of this design is that, because of the protruding surface and unfinished sides, a slide in oven range can't be placed in a spot without a structure on both sides, such as at the end of a row of cabinets. Most slide-in ranges also place all controls at the very front of the unit, instead of on a raised control panel typical to free-standing units, which is a great way to show off an elaborate tile backsplash.
