Cleaning Tips
Just like you’d get rid of the unwanted debris off your gear and boat, your Costas need proper maintenance too. It’s important to rinse & wash your Costas after a day on the water – especially the salt – as they’re likely covered in sunscreen, skin oils, hair product, and salt water.
Even if you spent your day off the water, skin oils and hair products build up on your frames and lenses. It’s good to give them a wash every now and then – say weekly or bi-weekly – or anytime you feel they are getting a little grimy.
You can start with a quick rinse using fresh (preferably warm) water and scrub with mild soap. Use a small drop of soap on each lens and spread it around the lenses and frame with your fingers to dissolve the oils and salts. Make sure you don’t scratch them. A quick rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth and you’re done. Your Costas are squeaky clean and ready for another adventure.
