It uses FUJIFILM instax WIDE instant film. Each cartridge contains 10 film sheets. Film is sold separately, and instax mini and instax SQUARE film are not compatible.

Smartphone printing requires the free instax Link WIDE app and connects through Bluetooth 5.1, with one smartphone connected at a time. Photo Mixer requires iOS 17 or later or Android 12 or later, although some devices may not work even with a supported operating system. Direct printing is also supported from compatible instax Pal and FUJIFILM X-T30 III cameras, and computers can print through downloadable driver software.

Printing takes approximately 14 seconds, and the instant photo develops in approximately 90 seconds. Development time varies with ambient temperature, while image size, file size, smartphone model, shooting conditions and wireless communication can affect printing speed and results.

The internal lithium-ion battery can print approximately 100 photos from a full charge, depending on usage conditions. Charging takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and uses the included USB Type-C cable; a USB AC adapter is not included.

The app supports frames, text, stickers, emojis, split-template collages and more than 1,600 in-app stickers and emojis. Photo Mixer can create postcard- or scrapbook-style layouts from up to 6 images, while Video Print captures a still frame from a video. Two print modes provide either vivid color or a softer, classic look, and QR codes can link to a website, location, hidden message or recorded sound.
