CELEBRATING
90 YEARS
It started with $800 and a vision
In 1936, Hungarian immigrant Jewel Abt and her husband David used her $800 life savings to start a small radio shop in Chicago. Their simple formula: sell the best products and provide the best service.
The answer is yes
Within 20 years, the business moved to a larger location. Jewel and David's son, Bob Abt, would eventually lead the company. Bob believed great customer service and a unique store speak for themselves.
Unlike any store you've ever experienced
Now in its 90th year, what began as a modest radio shop has grown into a 100,000+ sq. ft. destination.
