CES 2026: Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
Two Ways to Fold
A 6.5" cover display offers ample space for answering texts, scrolling social or answering emails. When fully unfolded, the display is about 10", which is almost the size of a small tablet. For people who do work on the go or watch movies on their phone, this larger screen is a welcome design feature. Fully unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold is a mere 3.9mm at its thinnest point, which is very thin for a folding phone. When you're done, fold the phone shut; you must fold the left panel first, then the right, and the Galaxy Z TriFold will vibrate and alert you if you're doing it wrong.
More Fun Features
The novelty of a folding phone is fun enough, but the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold isn't just a gimmick. You can have up to three apps open at the same time on the phone, which really takes advantage of the large display. And if you're someone who seeks productivity from your phone, you'll be glad to hear the TriFold also features Samsung DeX, which lets you connect your phone to a monitor to function like a computer. The camera gets an upgrade, too, with a 200-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultrawide and 10-megapixel telephoto camera on the back, plus two 10-megapixel front cameras.
When Can You Get Your Hands on Samsung's New Folding Phone?
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is already available in select global markets, and will come to the U.S. sometime in the first quarter of 2026. As of right now, Samsung hasn't announced pricing; the Galaxy Z Fold7 currently retails for $2,119.99, so we expect the TriFold to cost more.
