The Samsung Frame has established itself as an icon in the TV space; its art display functionality transformed the way we use TVs in our homes. This year, the brand unveiled the Frame Pro, with all the features of the Frame plus major display improvements. Both feature Art Mode to display famous artwork and your own photographs, but what is the main difference between the two? We're comparing the Samsung Frame vs. Frame Pro so you can decide which of their art TVs is best for your home.

Display

The display is the main difference when you compare the Frame vs. Frame Pro; the Frame Pro was created as the best of both worlds, with the unique matte display of the original Frame with a major boost in display quality. The Frame Pro features a Neo QLED 4K display, which uses Mini LED technology for a brighter picture, richer, more accurate colors and an overall more realistic viewing experience. In comparison, the Frame has a standard QLED 4K display. This is where most users will notice the main difference between the two televisions. The Frame Pro is noticeably brighter with more vibrant colors—it really does look amazing. They both offer Samsung Vision AI, which uses an AI processor to enhance the picture and sound; AI Picture upscaling enhances the resolution of anything you watch. Additionally, both TVs have a matte screen that not only makes the art on display look realistic, but also minimizes glare. While the Frame has a good display, the Frame Pro's is even better.

Screen Size

There's a good deal of difference in screen size with the Frame vs. Frame Pro. The 2025 Frame is available in 43", 50", 55" and 65" options, while the Frame Pro is available in 65", 75" and 85" sizes. As the Frame Pro is meant to be a significant display upgrade, it makes sense that it's available in larger sizes; however, it also means installation is slightly less flexible as you'll need more wall space for a larger TV. If space is at a premium in your home, the Frame is probably a better choice.

Connectivity: Wired or Wireless?

The Frame features the One Connect Box, while the Frame Pro is compatible with the Wireless One Connect Box. The One Connect Box plugs into the back of your TV, and your other devices like cable box or video game consoles plug into the box, so the only wire you'll see is the one connecting the One Connect Box to the TV. On the other hand, the Wireless One Connect Box connects to your TV wirelessly via Bluetooth; there's not even a cord to plug into the TV. The wireless box transmits content to your TV from up to 10 feet away, so it does offer more flexibility in terms of placement and installation. In this case, we'd say neither is better or worse; some people prefer the security of a wired connection, while others will want the clean, modern look of cordless connectivity.

Which Art TV Sounds Better?

We've already discussed that both TVs have Samsung Vision AI, and this AI processor-powered system can also enhance sound quality as well; AI Sound produces clearer dialogue and immersive sound effects. What sets the Frame Pro apart from the Frame in terms of sound quality is the new NQ4 AI Gen3 Processor (compared to the Gen2 on the Frame), which further optimizes sound, offering it a slight edge in this comparison. As we've mentioned in other TV comparisons, modern TVs are too thin to fit robust sound systems, so if you're looking for truly cinematic audio, we recommend upgrading with a compatible Samsung soundbar.

Customizing Your TV With Bezels

Both the Frame and the Frame Pro can be customized to fit your home decor with different bezels. Samsung makes bezels in wood and metallic finishes, so you have options no matter what your home looks like. It's important to note that these bezels are not interchangeable, so if you're upgrading an older Frame model, you'll need to purchase a new bezel as well. We also carry compatible bezels from Frame My TV with even more options to customize your screen. Both televisions are designed to hang like a picture frame, flush to your wall, so they'll look equally great in any room.

Samsung Frame vs. Frame Pro: Which Art TV is Best For You?

When it comes to comparing Samsung's art display TVs, this is less about which TV is "best" and more about your lifestyle. If you're mainly concerned about the aesthetics of your living room or bedroom, you'll probably be happy with the Frame. However, if you're seeking great picture quality and your spouse doesn't like the look of a large screen on the wall, the Frame Pro is the perfect compromise. In short, if you mostly care about the art display functionality, go with the Frame. If you like the art display but want the best picture possible, the Frame Pro is for you.
