Roon Music Servers at Abt

More than just an app. Roon is a platform for all the music in your home.

ROON

Roon

Since 2004, Roon has built products that help people access and organize their digital music files. There are three components of their product: The Roon Core is the brain. It's the server software that runs on a PC or Mac and controls access to all of your digital music files. An app connects your devices, such as phones and tablets, to the Roon Core so you browse, and play music. The hardware component is the music server which you can connect to all devices throughout your home. It's easy to keep the server current with the latest updates.

Roon is not a music streaming service, but a software that controls all of your music streaming services and music files. From there, it sends them to any audio output devices you choose. The company also makes hardware with devices such as the Nucleus and Nucleus Plus music servers. These wireless multi-room audio systems were designed to give you the best listening experience possible. The server manages your files across your devices and audio equipment so you can enjoy your music library wherever you go. It provides, not just a superior listening experience, it also connects you to high-resolution images as well as artist bios, lyrics, and even tour dates. Additionally, the Roon ARC mobile app gives you the freedom to experience your entire Roon library and Roon’s most powerful features without compromise, no matter where you are.

Roon Music Servers

A Nucleus Music Server is ready to go out of the box. Use it to manage your entire music library on one server that connects to all your devices via a USB or HDMI connection or across your network. Roon supports music files stored on internal and external hard drives and NAS, as well as your iTunes library, live radio stations and streamed content from TIDAL and Qobuz. The Nucleus was designed to run silently: it contains no fans or moving parts. Other features include two USB ports for connecting audio and external storage devices. It has two HDMI audio outputs for connecting to an audio/video receiver or home theater receiver. An ethernet port makes connecting to your networking fast and easy. Firmware updates are integrated into the app, which is included with purchase and can be used across your devices to control the main server. The app, Roon Remote, has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to access files and send them to the audio output of your choosing.

This music server makes it possible to store up to 100,000 tracks for use in up to six zones. When you purchase a music server you get a one-year Roon subscription too. The device supports all file formats on NAS as well as on external USB and internal storage drives. Use it with Airplay and Chromecast. It's ready to go right out of the box. These music servers are compatible with Sonos wireless audio technology too. Abt carries both the Nucleus and the Nucleus Plus Music Server, which is powered by a powerful Intel i7 processor and is perfect for those with large digital music libraries.
