Back to School Laptop Buying Guide 2021
In this video, one of Abt's top technologists, Carl, gives you a guide to buying a laptop in time for the new school year. The recommendations are divided by price point, ranging from under $500 to over $1000. If you're looking for basic word processing, web surfing or streaming on a budget, Asus is the way to go. The Chromebook model has a 14-inch screen, multiple USB ports, a built-in webcam and a display port for an external monitor. The Vivobook is more comprehensive, with a 15.6-inch screen, sharper resolution, a full number pad, more storage and a biometric scanner for added security. In the mid-price range, the HP Pavilion X360 has a powerful processor that can handle some gaming or video editing, high-quality audio, fast charging abilities and an HDMI outp[ut for TV or projector connections. You can even fold it into a tablet or prop it up. The Apple Macbook Air, on the other hand, is powerful and compact, making it easy to travel with and fit into bags. It features an M1 chip for efficient processing, a longer battery life, quiet operation and a backlit keyboard. To see the remaining laptop options, press play on this video to learn more.
