Use wood, starting with 3-4 dry, split logs arranged in a log-cabin stack rather than a teepee. Keep the wood below the secondary combustion openings. The Quick-Strike Base Plate helps make ignition easier, and optional Fire Starter Gel can be used with it. This is not a propane fire pit.

Wait until the fire pit has cooled completely. Lift the base plate, remove the ash pan, discard the ashes and reinstall the parts. The removable ash pan lifts out without tools; never move or empty the fire pit while it is hot.
