Frequently Asked Questions

  • It delivers 1,200 CFM, with an Equivalent CFM rating of 1,800 for comparison with conventional range hoods. The Magic Lung system uses centrifugal filtration to separate 99% of grease from the airflow while helping remove smoke, heat and odors.
  • For optimum ventilation performance, the bottom edge should be mounted no more than 30 in above the cooking surface. Installation and electrical wiring should be completed by qualified personnel.
  • The minimum round duct size is 12 in. The hood must vent outdoors through smooth, galvanized metal ductwork, and the duct size should not be reduced. For duct runs longer than 20 ft, increase the duct diameter by 1 in for every additional 10 ft; each 90-degree elbow counts as 5 ft of duct.
  • No mesh or baffle filters are required. Magic Lung technology uses centrifugal force to separate grease from the airflow. The E-Z Clean grease collection tray, snap-apart blower housing and blower wheels are removable and dishwasher-safe for easier maintenance.
  • The high-speed sound rating is 6.6 sones, or approximately 57.2 dB. Magic Lung technology is designed to provide powerful ventilation with significantly less noise than conventional filter-based systems.
