Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Magic Lung ventilation uses centrifugal force to separate 99% of grease from the airflow instead of relying on mesh or baffle filters. There are no filters to scrub or replace.
  • The E-Z Clean grease collection tray, snap-apart blower housing and blower wheels are removable and dishwasher-safe, simplifying routine range hood maintenance.
  • The actual airflow rating is 1200 CFM, and the manufacturer lists 1800 Equivalent CFM for comparison with conventional ventilation systems. The high-speed sound rating is 6.6 sones, or approximately 57 dB.
  • For optimum performance, the installation instructions recommend placing the bottom edge no more than 30 in above the cooking surface. This configuration requires a minimum 12 in round duct and must vent outdoors through smooth, galvanized metal duct; flexible or corrugated duct should not be used. Matching duct covers are sold separately.
  • The manufacturer's warranty for Magic Lung products covers parts for five years and labor for one year from the purchase date for the original owner.
