Wavtech 12-Inch 2-Ohm Professional Series Shallow Subwoofer - THINPRO12-2
Wavtech THINPRO122 12-Inch 2-Ohm Professional Series Shallow Subwoofer
The WĀVTECH thinPRO12 is a 12-inch professional series shallow subwoofer designed to deliver serious bass performance in a remarkably slim profile. With a mounting depth of just 3 inches, this subwoofer is built for installations where space is limited, but it still offers the power and control typically associated with much deeper models. Its patent-pending design, dual mirrored NBR spiders, and axial force transfer assembly help achieve over 2 inches of peak-to-peak excursion, while the FEA-optimized dual-gap motor structure and double-stacked strontium magnets provide impressive efficiency and accuracy. Built around a honeycomb cone made from composite Nomex® and glass fiber, the thinPRO12 is engineered for strength, low weight, and dependable output in both sealed and ported enclosures.

Features
- The thinPRO12 has a mounting depth of just 3”, so it is really thin, but it does not perform like a shallow subwoofer. Our Patent Pending design allows for some big performance advantages. The dual mirrored NBR spiders and axial force transfer assembly acheive over 2-inches of peak to peak excursion. Some popular models that are 10” deep don’t have this much excursion. This is unheard of in a shallow subwoofer.
- This is a shallow woofer, but it is big on performance. The 5” voice coil, available in 2 or 4 ohm, handles an impressive 750W RMS power, unheard of in a shallow subwoofer. The FEA optimized dual gap motor structure features a massive motor with double stacked strontium magnets. This maximizes flux density and control for an impressive 20mm of linear xmax. The cone is a honeycomb design, made of composite Nomex® and glass fiber. This makes it extremely strong and lightweight.
- The point of a shallow subwoofer is to fit places others won’t. If it doesn’t work in a small box, what’s the point. The thinPRO12 excels in both small sealed and ported enclosures. In sealed applications, box sizes range from 0.4-1.0cu ft, with the optimum being 0.6cu ft. Ported options range from 0.8-1.5cu ft, with 1.0cu ft being the ideal choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The mounting depth is just 3 inches, making this a shallow subwoofer. This slim profile allows it to fit in tight spaces where deeper models cannot, without sacrificing bass performance. Its design is ideal for installations with limited space.
-
This subwoofer excels in both small sealed and ported enclosures. Sealed enclosure volumes range from 0.4 to 1.0 cubic feet, with 0.6 cubic feet being optimal. Ported enclosures work well between 0.8 to 1.5 cubic feet, with 1.0 cubic feet ideal for best performance.
-
It handles an impressive 750 watts RMS power, which is quite high for a shallow subwoofer. This power capability ensures strong, controlled bass output suitable for professional audio setups.
-
The cone is made from a honeycomb design combining composite Nomex and glass fiber. These materials provide strength and lightweight characteristics, ensuring durability and efficient sound reproduction with minimal distortion.
