Audison AFBMW-BOOSTER 01 AF bit Plug and Play T-Harness for BMW 688 Harman/Kardon Systems
The Audison AFBMW-BOOSTER 01 is a dedicated Plug & Play T-harness designed to integrate Audison Forza amplifiers with BMW vehicles equipped with the 688 Harman/Kardon OEM sound system. Specifically engineered for BMW Sound System 688 and RAM applications,1 it gives BMW owners and car-audio installers a purpose-built connection for upgrading the factory system with Audison electronics. Its application-specific design addresses the signal path of this OEM audio platform rather than treating it as a generic amplifier installation.
Within this BMW system, a dedicated OEM booster amplifier powers only the underseat woofers. The cable creates a seamless link between that booster and Audison electronics through OEM-grade Plug & Play connectors. This non-invasive approach avoids changes to the original wiring, maintains system integrity, and preserves factory functions and vehicle-network communication. The factory booster stays in place as part of the vehicle network,2 while optimized signal routing supports safe, reliable integration with Audison Forza amplifiers.
The AFBMW-BOOSTER 01 also accommodates several specified upgrade paths for compatible 688 RAM systems. It can be used with Audison AF BMW ReAMP3 for a full-system upgrade, or with the F4IN input expansion card and AF M1.7 bit when adding a subwoofer. For another subwoofer integration route, the harness supports hardwire installation with Connection SLi 2.3 or another interface device capable of handling 26 V+ signals. Plug-and-play compatibility with the F4IN card in Audison AF amplifiers further supports a tailored installation, while channel-specific ART operation should be considered during system planning.3
