Canon 7503C002 EOS R8 Mark II Full Frame Mirrorless Camera (Body Only)

Created to Explore, the Canon EOS R8 Mark II Camera (Body), model 7503C002, brings advanced full-frame performance and In-Body Image Stabilization to a compact, lightweight design. Built for aspiring photographers, enthusiasts, hybrid creators and newcomers to full-frame imaging, it pairs travel-ready portability with comfortable handling and a modern flat-surface body influenced by Canon's camera heritage. Canon identifies it as the lightest IBIS-equipped camera in the EOS lineup as of September 15, 2026.1 It is ready to move from landscapes and portraits to wildlife, motorsports, aircraft, trains and everyday content creation.

At its core, a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor delivers rich tones, natural background blur and strong high-ISO performance with low digital noise. Five-axis sensor-shift stabilization helps steady handheld stills and video, including work with non-stabilized lenses, while coordinated operation with compatible lens optical stabilization is rated for up to 7.5 stops of correction at the image center and 7.0 stops at the periphery.2 Dual Pixel CMOS AF II follows people, animals and vehicles across the frame, helping creators respond confidently as subjects move. A high-speed electronic shutter and pre-continuous capture further prepare the camera for decisive moments that begin before the shutter button is fully pressed.

Hybrid storytellers can record full-width UHD 4K video at up to 60p from 6K oversampling, or use Full HD at up to 180p for high-frame-rate sequences with audio support in applicable modes. Close-up demonstration settings, Slow and Fast recording and Custom Picture options including Canon Log 3 extend the camera from product reviews and livestreams to more deliberate production workflows. An eye-level OLED electronic viewfinder and vari-angle touch LCD support focused composition from eye level, high or low positions and in front of the camera, while a front tally lamp makes recording status visible. Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 Low Energy and USB-C add remote, transfer, charging, power-delivery and UVC/UAC livestreaming flexibility.3

Key Features

Benefits of a Full-Frame Sensor

The large imaging area provides approximately 2.5 times the light-gathering area of an APS-C sensor, supporting low-light work and the selective-focus look associated with pronounced foreground and background blur. Full-frame coverage also lets wide and ultra-wide RF lenses deliver their intended angle of view.

Autofocus and Control

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II offers up to 100% horizontal and 100% vertical automatic-selection coverage. People detection can target the upper torso, head, face or a selected eye; animal recognition supports dogs, cats, birds and horses; and vehicle detection is designed for motorsports cars, motorcycles, aircraft and trains, with helmet or cockpit spot-detection options.4 Register People Priority can place up to ten saved individuals ahead of other subjects when its requirements are met.5 A multi-controller joystick gives the photographer direct access to AF-point movement and menu navigation.

Ready for the Unpredictable

The electronic shutter reaches continuous speeds up to 40 fps,6 while pre-continuous shooting can preserve 20 images from approximately 0.5 second before full shutter-button depression. Compared with the original EOS R8, Canon states that uninterrupted 40 fps bursts hold 58% more JPEG frames and 30% more RAW frames, expanding the opportunity to follow action through a sequence.

Express Yourself

Sixteen Color Filters bring distinct looks to compatible photos and movies,7 including the deep color and strong contrast of Positive Filmtone and the nostalgic character of Negative Filmtone. Advanced A+ combines scene recognition, intelligent bracketing and processing, while Creative Bracketing generates alternate interpretations with changes such as brightness and color tone. Fourteen SCN presets provide automated starting points for subjects ranging from portraits and sports to panoramas, close-ups and handheld night scenes.

Tools for Hybrid Creation

Movie for close-up demos adjusts autofocus and automatic exposure for product showcases, reviews and livestream presentations.8 Slow and Fast mode creates slow-motion or accelerated results in camera with selected recording and playback rates. For color-managed work, Custom Picture offers Canon Log 3, Canon 709, PQ, HLG and BT.709 Standard, with Canon rating Canon Log 3 for up to approximately 14 stops of dynamic range under its stated settings.

Flexible Viewing and Connected Production

The approximately 2.36-million-dot OLED viewfinder provides 100% coverage and 0.70x magnification, complementing the touch-operated vari-angle LCD for unconventional viewpoints and self-facing work. Wireless transfer, remote control and app-based livestreaming are supported over 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, while Bluetooth Low Energy maintains a low-power connection with paired smartphones or a compatible remote. HDMI, Camera Connect and Live Switcher Mobile add more choices for connected production.

Footnotes:

1 Lightest IBIS-equipped EOS camera claim is as of September 15, 2026.

2 Rated using electronic shutter under CIPA 2024 standards for yaw, pitch and roll correction with the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z at 105 mm.

3 Video streamed through USB cannot also be recorded to the camera's memory card.

4 Vehicle recognition depends on the subject. Vehicles may not be detected, and non-vehicle subjects may sometimes be identified as vehicles.

5 Registration requires a test image with the person's head and face unobstructed and clearly visible. Both eyes must be visible, but the person does not need to look directly at the lens.

6 Up to 40 fps requires electronic shutter and Continuous High+ drive. Camera settings and shooting conditions may lower the maximum speed.

7 For stills, Color Filters are unavailable with RAW/C-RAW, HDR PQ, HDR mode, multiple exposures or focus bracketing. For movies, they are unavailable with HDR PQ or time-lapse movies.

8 Close-up demo functionality is available in Creative Zone movie recording, Smooth Skin Movie Mode and livestreaming.
