At the heart of the kit, the PowerShot V1 combines a large 1.4-type CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processing with an ultra-wide fixed zoom lens. It records uncropped 4K at up to 29.97 fps and cropped 4K at up to 59.94 fps for detailed motion capture.¹ Canon Log 3 and 10-bit recording give advanced creators greater flexibility when preserving dynamic range and grading footage. A bright f/2.8-f/4.5 maximum aperture and integrated 3-stop ND filter help adapt the built-in lens to changing light, while Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides subject and eye detection for both movies and still images.

The Sensor

Video

For more advanced finishing, Canon Log 3 is available with 10-bit YCbCr 4:2:2 recording and H.265/HEVC compression. HDR PQ is also supported, while MP4 recording options include IPB Standard, IPB Light, and ALL-I for time-lapse movies.

Keeping It Cool

The internal fan can be set to Off, On, or Auto, with High, Medium, and Low speed choices available in the On setting. These controls let creators manage camera temperature according to the recording session.²
