The Powershred 75Cs can shred up to 12 sheets per pass at a security level of P-4 and shreds them into about 1/8th of an inch by 1½ inch cross cut particles through its wide 9 inch paper entry. It’s also powerful enough to shred staples, credit cards, paper clips and even CDs or DVDs and has a designated safety slot for these items to pass through. The coolest thing about this shredder is its SafeSense technology. When SafeSense is turned on, the shredder will stop shredding when your hands touch the paper opening. The light will illuminate here and the shredder won’t operate until your hands are no longer near the opening and it’s safe to shred again. That means this is safe around kids, too. You can finally shred in peace. You just feed the paper straight into the paper entry or your CDs and credit cards into the safety slot, release and watch the shredder do its thing.
The Powershred 75Cs has a 7 gallon pull-out bin with a window on the front so you can see when your bin is full. It also has a bin full light here that will light up when it’s time to empty the bin. It has a maximum run time of 10-12 minutes and will need a 20 minute cool down period in between. If the shredder gets overworked, the overheat button will light up which means the shredder has exceeded its maximum operating temperature and needs to cool down. This light will remain illuminated and the shredder won’t operate until it’s properly cooled down. If this light is on, it means your bin is open and the shredder won’t work until you close the bin and if this light is on, it means you need to press the reverse button to release the paper, then reduce the amount of paper to allow it to pass through.
