Hooker Furniture Modern Mood Etagere in Mink - 6850-10445-89
Hooker Furniture 6850-10445-89 Modern Mood Etagere in Mink
Architectural and artistic with a luxe mixture of materials, the Modern Mood Etagere has three fixed shelves crafted of wire-brushed Quartered Oak in the Mink finish with dark, earthy brown hues with notes of black. The shelves are surrounded by a shaped brushed metal frame in a warm pewter-colored finish. Finished all the way around, the shelf can be used from either side and can float in a room. Unbound by geographical design, Modern Mood presents itself as an evolution of design choices, spanning a variety of decades and design movements, while maintaining an unmistakably modern aesthetic that transcends time. The 90-piece collection includes bedroom, dining room, home office, accent and occasional items characterized by substantive forms with soft architectural details. Elevated materials and brushed metal accents in a warm pewter finish are evident throughout the collection, including metal banding and edging as well as marble and glass accents. Crafted with flat cut quartered oak veneer with wire-brushed detailing, Modern Mood is presented in two finishes: Mink and Diamond. Delivering a dark, earthy brown with notes of black, Mink delivers a timeless aesthetic. A much lighter presentation is achieved with the crystal-like alabaster and pewter hues of the Diamond finish, delivering a soft sophistication.
Features
Finish Construction
- Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.
Frame Construction
- Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.
Care Guide
Keeping Your Furniture Beautiful
- Quality wood furniture is a significant investment expected to last for generations. To maintain its beauty and help it last, wood furniture needs the right care. Hooker Furniture products are finished with two to three coats of lacquer for extra depth and long-lasting durability. The sheen, or gloss, of the finish ranges from high to low, depending on the piece or collection. The finish protects the wood and adds to its beauty. No finish is totally indestructible. But with regular care, the finish will last much longer, providing years of enjoyment to you.
To Protect And Care For Your Furniture, The Following Is Suggested
- Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight, as sunlight causes fading.
- Avoid extreme changes in temperature by arranging furniture away from radiators, heat and air vents and air conditioning units.
- Avoid placing plastic or rubber materials (lamp bases, notebooks, placemats, etc.) on your furniture, as certain plastics contain ingredients that may damage the finish.
- Periodically rotate accessories on furniture so they do not sit in the same spot all the time.
- Use pads, cloth or felt to protect the furniture surface from plastic, rubber, hot dishes, beverages, bookends, flowerpots and vases.
- Clean up spills immediately. Use a blotting rather than a wiping action. Water left over a long period of time will cause white spots in the finish. Alcohol, perfume, after-shave and medications can cause severe finish damage.
- Use a protective pad when writing with a ballpoint pen on the furniture surface.
- Lift and place objects rather than dragging them across the furniture surface.
- Avoid placing furniture directly under windows.
Cleaning And Polishing Your Furniture
- We recommend dusting frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain. We recommend polishing your furniture approximately every six months, using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth and rubbing the polish in the direction of the grain.
- Some of our products feature a high-gloss finish. These items require extra care to prevent dust and smudges from being overly apparent. Be especially careful to avoid scratching high gloss finishes by using a feather duster or very soft, clean cloths and wiping with minimal pressure.

- Some color variation in photos of our furniture finishes, leathers and fabrics is possible due to lighting and differing resolution quality on computer devices.
