When designing the THX-1200-SW subwoofer, Klipsch applied its theater experience to bring the same powerful, deep-driving bass to the comforts of home.

To achieve intense, deep-bass output in large rooms, this high-performance subwoofer that is part of the THX® family features a 12-inch, long-throw Cerametallic™ driver and front-firing port. It includes a 15 pound motor structure and a 20-foot Monster® THX Ultra cable with Neutrik Speakon® connectors. The subwoofer is driven by an external 1-kilowatt amplifier (KA-1000-THX) tailored to its characteristics for maximum output and reliability with extremely low distortion.

The subwoofer's enclosure has the dado and rabbet construction used in Klipsch professional speakers for structural integrity.

Finished in Galaxy black with an aluminum fascia, the KW-120-THX also features top-of-the-line internal wiring to ensure that every roar or explosion is heard with complete clarity.

• The THX-1200-SW is a compact, high-output, low-distortion passive subwoofer
  It is suitable for use in any high-performance home-theater or music system. A pair of THX-1200-SW’s driven by a KA-1000-THX amplifier meet all requirements for THX Ultra2 certification. Although a single THX1200-SW does not satisfy the stringent THX Ultra2 maximum output specification, which assumes a very large room, it is more than adequate for a typical small or medium-sized room. Either configuration is capable of intense, powerful deep-bass reproduction, with no loss of clarity or detail at even the highest levels demanded by modern action-movie soundtracks. The cabinet is front-ported to maximize installation flexibility.

Each subwoofer enclosure has a NL2 SpeakOn™ input for correct, secure amplifier connections, and each THX-1200-SW is supplied with a 20-foot THX Ultra certified speaker cable terminated with NL2 SpeakOn connectors.
