The Leica 18841-L LUX Silver Grip is a MagSafe camera grip and physical camera control accessory for compatible iPhones, pairing a mechanical two-stage shutter button with a settings dial, two programmable FN buttons and Leica LUX app integration. Its full-metal aluminum housing, classic silver finish and left- or right-handed configuration support deliberate camera-like handling, while Bluetooth 5.0 LE, USB-C charging and a battery rated for approximately 1,000 pictures keep the grip ready for extended mobile photography. It attaches to iPhone 12 and later using MagSafe technology.¹

Mechanical Two-Stage Shutter and Physical Controls

The Leica 18841-L gives the shutter release deliberate mechanical feedback, while the settings dial and two assignable FN buttons place frequently used adjustments under the photographer's fingers. The layout supports both quick, spontaneous frames and slower still-life composition without making every change through touchscreen controls.

MagSafe Mounting for Either Hand

The grip attaches magnetically to a compatible iPhone or MagSafe case, eliminating the need for a dedicated phone-specific clamp. Its conversion option allows left- or right-handed setup, so the camera-style controls can be positioned for the photographer's preferred hand. This MagSafe technology also makes the grip easy to attach and remove.

Modular construction is designed to keep the Leica LUX Grip useful across multiple MagSafe-compatible iPhone generations rather than relying on a dedicated shell for one phone model.

Leica LUX App Creative Control

The Leica LUX app adds manual adjustment of exposure, ISO and shutter speed, plus Leica Looks and rendering effects inspired by Summilux-M and Noctilux-M lenses. The Leica 18841-L operates only through the Leica LUX app and cannot control the pre-installed iPhone Camera app.²

12 Months of Leica LUX Pro

After the grip is registered to a Leica account, the included offer provides 12 months of Leica LUX Pro access.³ This connects the physical grip with the Pro version of the app for an integrated hardware-and-software shooting system.

Approximately 1,000 Pictures Per Charge

The internal 300 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated for approximately 1,000 pictures, supporting extended mobile photo sessions between charges. A full recharge takes about 2 hours through USB-C, and a USB-C to USB-C charging cable is included.

Full-Metal Silver Aluminum Housing

A full-metal aluminum body gives the Leica LUX Grip a durable camera-like feel in Leica's classic silver finish. At approximately 130 g including the battery, the housing adds a substantial physical control surface while retaining the magnetic smartphone format.
