The MartinLogan DISCRETECINEMALCR7 Motion Discrete Cinema LCR7 passive on-wall loudspeaker¹ is a seven-driver LCR or surround channel scaled to visually and acoustically complement 75 in class displays.² Its 2.5-way sealed aluminum design combines a Gen2 Folded Motion Tweeter and Folded Motion Waveguide with three active and three passive 4 in woven fiberglass cones, delivering 70-25,000 Hz +/- 3 dB response, 93 dB sensitivity and controlled 90 degrees x 90 degrees dispersion. Mount it vertically for left or right duty, horizontally as a center channel, or as a slim surround, with the included low-profile bracket, concealed cable channels and tool-free connector helping preserve a clean, zero-floor-footprint installation.

Seven-Driver Output for 75 in Class Displays

The LCR7 adds driver density to match the scale of larger flat-panel systems: three active and three passive 4 in woven fiberglass cones work with the tweeter for greater output, power handling and control. That arrangement helps the speaker create an expansive, authoritative front soundstage without relying on visually bulky cabinets.

Gen2 Folded Motion Clarity

A 1 in x 1.4 in Gen2 Folded Motion Tweeter uses a 5.25 in x 1.75 in diaphragm and Folded Motion Waveguide to reproduce fine high-frequency detail. Its 90 degrees x 90 degrees dispersion is designed to distribute sound across the listening area while limiting unwanted room reflections.

Woven Fiberglass Timbre Matching

The 4 in Unibody cones use the same material family as current full-size Motion Series speakers, supporting consistent tonal character across a multichannel system. Their stiffness-to-mass ratio also gives dialogue and effects impact from a shallow enclosure.

Sealed Extruded Aluminum Cabinet

Rigid aluminum walls control cabinet flex and resonance while maximizing useful internal air volume. Curved endcaps and proportions tied to modern television bezels soften the visual transition, so the speaker reads as part of the display installation rather than a conventional box.

Flexible Left, Center, Right or Surround Placement

Use the LCR7 vertically beside the screen for left or right channels, rotate it horizontally beneath the display as a center-channel speaker, or place it as a low-profile surround. This single-channel format makes it possible to repeat the same speaker architecture across several positions in the room.

Cleaner Wall-Mount Installation

The included ultra-slim bracket supports close wall placement and alignment adjustments, while hidden hardware and rear wire channels reduce visible installation clutter. A removable tension-lever connector lets the installer terminate speaker wire before hanging the cabinet, without using a screwdriver at the speaker.

Designed for a Full Home Theater System

The LCR7 focuses on detailed midrange and treble performance, with a rated response down to 70 Hz. For a full home theater system, MartinLogan recommends adding at least one suitable high-performance subwoofer for full-spectrum reproduction.³
