Metra AXA2B-FD1 is a vehicle-specific A2B amplifier retention interface for professional and experienced car-audio installers replacing the factory radio in select amplified Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Instead of removing a compatible premium factory amplifier with the original radio, this add-on integration keeps that amplifier in service as part of the aftermarket system. It is engineered to serve as the amplifier-retention portion of a complete Ford radio-replacement integration.¹

In supported applications, AXA2B-FD1 retains the factory Bang & Olufsen amplifier with A2B2 input in Ford F-150 trucks and the factory Sony amplifier with A2B2 input in select Ford Fusion vehicles.² It also preserves factory balance control, allowing left/right audio adjustment to remain available after installation. The supplied vehicle-specific T-harness and universal harness provide the wiring needed to place the add-on interface in line with the applicable interface or touchscreen-display harness connection.

For system connection, the gray and white RCAs accept right- and left-front full-range outputs from the aftermarket radio, while the Blue/White lead provides the amplifier turn-on connection. A Micro "B" USB port supports interface firmware updates. After the wiring is complete, installers can cycle the ignition and test the system for functionality. Metra recommends installation by MECP-certified technicians, helping place this vehicle-specific integration in experienced hands.

With the key out of the ignition, disconnect the negative battery terminal before installation.

Complete all installation connections, especially air-bag indicator-light connections, before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition.
