For the first time, the feature is also available for manual focus lenses, automatically magnifying the area around the eyes so you can quickly confirm sharp focus. - Up To 30 fps High-Speed Capture
Nail the decisive moment with 14 fps continuous shooting using the Z f’s mechanical shutter, which has been tested to 200,000 cycles, or activate C30+ for up to 30 fps using the silent electronic shutter. - Pre-Release Capture
Record the moments before you actually press the shutter release button—up to 30 fps—saving shots that would otherwise have been missed. - Auto Mode Enhanced By Deep Learning
The Z f’s Deep Learning technology analyzes your shooting situation and automatically adjusts aperture, ISO and shutter speed to match your intentions. You can automatically capture portraits with beautiful background blur or have all the faces in focus for a group shot. - Widest ISO Range Among Z Series Cameras
ISO 100-64,000 for stills with low noise across the entire range. ISO 100-51,200 for video. - AF Detection Down To -10 EV
The lowest of any Z series camera1; detect faces and even eyes in extremely dark scenes. - Selective Noise Processing
Seeks out mid-tones where noise tends to increase—especially on flat surfaces—for sharp, clear low-light images with rich saturation. - HEIF Image Format For Richer Tonal Gradation
Richer tonal gradation than JPEG with increased luminance at a comparable file size. Great for stills and creating 4K HLG time-lapse videos in-camera. - 8.0 Stops Of 5-Axis VR Image Stabilization2.
Slow your shutter speed an amazing 8.0 stops slower than would otherwise be possible without causing image blur. - World's First Focus-Point Stabilization3.
The Z f applies stabilization5 to the area around the active focus point, wherever it is in the frame, providing precise correction right where you need it. - Dedicated Black & White Mode
With the flick of a switch, express composition, patterns, light and shadows in their purest form. New Flat and Deep Tone Monochrome Picture Controls give you flexible control for video and stills. - 96MP Ultra-High Resolution Stills
Activate Pixel Shift Shooting and create the highest resolution, lowest noise and lowest false color (moiré) still images ever produced in a Nikon camera. (Requires NX Studio to combine a 32-image sequence into one 96MP image.) - Beautiful Portraits Made Easy
Apply Skin Softening, easily adjust the hue and brightness of skin tones, retain maximum detail with a new Rich Tone Portrait color profile and more—all in-camera. - Picture Controls & Creative Picture Controls

A wide range of options make it easy to render beautiful colors directly from the camera or through grading in post production. - Over 2 Hours Of Continuous Recording
Record continuous clips up to 125 minutes long directly to the memory card, no external capture device required. - Front-Facing Screen For Content Creation
Bring the exceptional quality of full-frame footage to your content. Touch controls make it easy to start and stop recording. - New Shutter-Priority Exposure Mode
Record with a fixed shutter speed. The Z f will make smooth adjustments to ISO and aperture to maintain even brightness in your shot. - 5-Axis Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization
Smooth handheld shots and camera movements. For extra stability during walking shots, Electronic VR works in conjunction with the Sensor-Shift VR. - Fine Exposure Adjustments
Adjust ISO in fine increments of 1/6 EV for smooth transitions from light to dark areas. Adjust shutter speed to as slow as 1/4 second. - The Authentic Feel Of Precision Mechanics
From the tactile knurling of the brass dials to the oh-so satisfying click of the mechanical shutter release button, every element of the Z f is carefully crafted to provide not just a beautiful appearance, but also a precision, tactile shooting experience. - New Touch Control While Shooting Through The EVF
While shooting through the viewfinder, you can simultaneously use the Z f’s touchscreen to move focus points, select a different subject to track, toggle between display modes and more—all without ever taking your eyes off the scene.
NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S Zoom Lens
- NIKKOR Quality At Its Absolute Best
At the top of the ever-expanding NIKKOR Z lens lineup, S-Line lenses push Nikon’s tradition of optical excellence and innovation to unprecedented new heights. Superior performance and resolution. Sophisticated features and operability. Specialized technologies and reliability enhancements. All while taking full advantage of the monumental Nikon Z mount and adhering to the strictest image quality and build standards. - Breakthrough Z System Performance
Empowered by the Z system's larger mount, shorter flange distance and cutting-edge imaging advancements, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S delivers uncanny sharpness, vibrance and even lighting across the entire frame. - Consistently Brilliant
A constant f/4 max aperture maintains consistent exposure at any zoom setting. Record smooth zoom transitions with even lighting across the entire sequence. - Not Rough Around The Edges
The larger Z Mount enables epic definition and resolution from the center of the frame to the edges. No need to stop this lens down. - True To Life
A new optical formula achieves faithful color reproduction with minimal axial/lateral chromatic aberration and virtually zero sagittal coma flare, even at 24mm. - Small And Mighty
With a highly versatile zoom range for both stills and video, yet a wonderfully compact, lightweight design, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S is an ideal travel companion. - Think Small
Close focus is less than 1 foot (11.8-inches) from your subject (at any focal length) for macro-style shots with a 0.3X reproduction ratio—much larger than most comparable lenses. - Dual Detect 5 Axis VR
Uses Z cameras' superior in-camera image stabilization system for up to 5 stops of pitch, roll, yaw, X and Y shake correction when used with Z cameras that feature in-camera VR. Additional electronic VR (e-VR) during video capture. - Durable & Lightweight
Extensively sealed against dust and moisture, especially around all moving parts of the barrel. Includes nonstick Fluorine coating on the front element for easy cleaning. - The Front Line Of An Imaging Revolution
Z lenses, perfectly matched to Z camera bodies, are designed with a sense of consistency that combines reliability and beauty with next-dimension optical performance for freedom in image creation. - Accuracy Abounds
The larger Z Mount allows more data to be shared between lens and camera for faster, more accurate focusing and improved distortion control. - Silent Stepping
Designed specifically for the new Z Mount size, an ultra-quiet new stepping motor (STM) powers fast, near-silent AF and aperture adjustments. - New Customizable Control Ring
Can be used for manual focusing (default), aperture control (great for iris transitions during video recording) or exposure compensation. - Stepping Motor
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video. - Aspherical - Extra-Low Dispersion Glass Elements
An ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element that features the characteristics of an Aspheric glass element for a more compact size lens. Like Aspherical lenses, AS-ED lens elements minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture by continuously changing the refractive index from the center of the lens. The AS-ED lens elements are optical glass developed by Nikon to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations. - Aspherical Lens
A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the center of the lens. - Nano Crystal Coat
An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat solves ghost effects caused by red light and effectively reduces ghost and flare caused by light entering the lens diagonally. - Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting. - IF Lens
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel. - Fluorine Coat
Photographers need gear that can withstand the elements. Nikon’s fluorine coat effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease or dirt, ensuring easy removal even when they adhere to the lens surface. Nikon’s fluorine coat endures a high frequency of lens surface wiping and its anti-reflective effect also contributes to the capture of clear images. - Super Integrated Coating
Nikon Super Integrated Coating is Nikon's term for its multilayer coating of the optical elements in NIKKOR lenses.
