REL Acoustics AIRSHIP DIRECT Wireless Subwoofer Transmitter in Black
The REL Acoustics AIRSHIP DIRECT wireless subwoofer transmitter combines direct receiver integration with compression-free, ultra-low-latency transmission using the Airship II platform. High-Level, stereo Low-Level and RCA or balanced XLR .1/LFE inputs accommodate different audio systems, while one transmitter supports multiple receivers for stereo pairs and line arrays. The receiver plugs into the amplifier's dedicated input on compatible subwoofers, reducing hardware and cable clutter at the subwoofer. Easy pairing and simpler cable routing make wireless installation more convenient without compromising sound.
Key Features
Direct Receiver Connection
Plug, pair and play with less hardware to arrange behind the subwoofer. The integrated receiver design means there is no separate receiver box to position, no receiver-side RCA cables to route and no external receiver power supply to accommodate. The transmitter still requires power and audio connections; the simplified wiring is at the receiver.
Compression-Free Airship II Performance
The same high-speed protocol, broad bandwidth and pairing process as Airship II keep audio performance at the heart of the wireless design. Zero compression and very low delay support performance-focused listening, while the direct-connect design improves installation rather than changing the underlying transmission platform.
Flexible High-Level, Low-Level and .1/LFE Inputs
Connect through High-Level Neutrik Speakon, left/right Low-Level RCA, or a dedicated .1/LFE input in RCA or balanced XLR form. These choices let you match the transmitter connection to your audio system rather than limiting wireless installation to a single input format.
Dedicated Subwoofer Compatibility
212 Black Label, Carbon Special Black Label, S/850 and S/550 subwoofers have the dedicated input for the direct-connect receiver. Choose a supported subwoofer with that connection rather than assuming the accessory works with every generation.
Stereo Pairs and Line Arrays
Begin with one subwoofer or extend the wireless arrangement to a stereo pair or line array. Multiple receivers can communicate with a single transmitter, simplifying cable routing as the system expands without requiring an individual transmitter for each receiver.
5.8 GHz Wireless Placement Flexibility
The specified effective wireless distance is 10 m with clear line of sight. That gives you more freedom with subwoofer placement without running an audio cable across that distance. Plan your layout around the clear-line-of-sight requirement.

The user manual specifies an effective wireless distance of 33 ft (10 m) with a clear line of sight. The brochure lists a pairing range of 30 ft (10 m), also with a clear line of sight.
-
Transmitter inputs include High-Level Neutrik Speakon, stereo Low-Level RCA, RCA .1/LFE and balanced XLR .1/LFE. Wireless transmission is compression-free and designed for ultra-low latency.
-
The receiver connects directly to the compatible subwoofer's amplifier, eliminating receiver-side RCA interconnects, a separate receiver power supply and a separate receiver box. The transmitter still requires power and audio connections.
-
Yes. One transmitter supports multiple receivers, allowing expansion to stereo subwoofer pairs or more complex line-array systems using compatible subwoofers.
