- Cleaning the Mattress Cover
The covers on Stearns & Foster® mattresses are spot-clean only and are not water-resistant.
To prolong the life of your mattress and keep it clean, we recommend using a water-resistant mattress protector to protect against liquid damage. Vacuuming is the only recommended cleaning method, and it should be completed at least once a month to prevent dust and debris build-up on the surface of your mattress.
If your mattress is exposed to liquid or has a stain, please take the following steps to clean the area:- Use a dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible, pushing down into the material. Once you've removed the excess moisture, let the mattress air dry (you can use a fan to blow air directly on the mattress to expedite the process).
- To clean a stain, use a mild soap with cold or warm water and apply lightly, careful not to soak the mattress. Dry cleaning fluids may damage some of the inner materials. Afterward, let the affected area dry completely before applying any bedding.

- Box springs are not compatible with Stearns & Foster mattresses. They are designed to "give" in supporting a traditional mattress while Stearns & Foster mattresses require a solid base.
- We do not suggest placing your mattress on the floor. Doing so may trap moisture underneath the mattress, cause damage, or invalidate your warranty.

It is compatible with a power base, flat foundation, or platform bed. Box springs and direct floor placement are not approved. For warranty coverage, use adequate continuous support; a queen frame must have a rigid bridge bar with at least five support legs, or five equally spaced hardwood cross-slats at least 3 in wide and no more than 4 in apart, plus a supporting center leg.

Rotate the mattress, but do not flip it. For routine cleaning, vacuum it at least once a month. The cover is spot-clean only and is not water-resistant, so a water-resistant mattress protector is recommended.
