Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. The Magic Lung ventilation system uses centrifugal force to separate 99% of grease from the airflow, so there are no mesh or baffle filters to scrub or replace. The E-Z Clean grease collection tray, snap-apart blower housing and blower wheels are removable and dishwasher-safe.
  • The blower provides 300 CFM, with an Equivalent CFM rating of 450 for comparison with other ventilation systems. Magic Lung technology uses an open canopy and centrifugal grease separation to remove grease, smoke, heat and odors from cooking vapors.
  • This configuration requires a minimum 6 in round duct with 28 sq. in. of area. It must vent outdoors through smooth, galvanized metal ductwork; flexible or corrugated duct is not recommended. Matching duct covers are sold separately.
  • For optimum performance, install the bottom edge no more than 30 in above the cooking surface. The wood mounting strip must be secured to at least two wall studs with appropriate hardware.
  • The Magic Lung warranty covers parts for five years and labor for one year from the purchase date for the original owner. Product registration with Vent-A-Hood is not required. Warranty claims should be directed to the authorized dealer where it was purchased or to the regional Vent-A-Hood distributor.
