The Vent-A-Hood JDH142/C1 SS Designer Series 42 in wall-mount range hood combines a Stainless Steel concave profile with an internal Magic Lung blower rated at 300 CFM and 450 CFM Equivalent1. Its centrifugal system separates 99% of grease without conventional mesh or baffle filters, while high-speed operation is rated at 5.4 sones, approximately 55 dB. A SensaSource heat sensor automatically increases blower speed as cooking temperatures rise, and three dimmable LED lights provide dual-level illumination.
The broad open canopy intercepts heat, steam, smoke, grease and odors at the cooking surface. Removable, dishwasher-safe grease collection and blower components simplify routine maintenance, and the lower-resistance airflow path helps ventilation run without overwhelming conversation or normal kitchen activity.

For optimum performance, the bottom of the wall-mount hood should be installed no more than 30 in above the cooking surface. The manufacturer also recommends choosing a hood at least as wide as the cooktop, or 3 in to 6 in wider for better capture.

The hood must vent outdoors through smooth, galvanized metal ductwork; flexible or corrugated duct should not be used. This 300 CFM single-blower configuration requires a minimum 6 in round duct with 28 sq. in of area. Duct runs longer than 20 ft require increasing the duct diameter by 1 in for every additional 10 ft, and each 90-degree elbow counts as 5 ft of duct.
