Come to Abt's 2026 Camera Trade-In & Trade Up Event

An array of Nikon digital cameras on a grey background.
Do you have an old camera you just don't use anymore, or are you dying for an upgrade? Come to Abt's camera trade-in event on October 10 & 11 to trade in your used gear and get an Abt gift card, cash or a check in return.

How the Trade-In Works

The process is simple: bring your old (but working) camera and lenses to Abt on October 10 or 11 to trade them in for an Abt gift card, cash or a check. We're partnering with UsedPhotoPro, who will buy back your cameras and give them a second life. There's no appointment needed, and the process should take about five minutes (unless you have a ton of gear). You're paid on the spot, too, so you can put your money toward an upgraded camera or save it for a future purchase.

What Gear We Accept

We'll accept cameras from major brands including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma and more. Most mirrorless camera bodies and lenses are accepted, as well as select DSLR bodies and lenses and medium format bodies and lenses. If your camera is from a brand not listed here and you aren't sure we'll accept it, call our camera department in advance at 847.544.2260 for more information. We'll also accept select non-autofocus SLR cameras depending on the model; you can also call our camera department to see if your specific camera is accepted.

What We Won't Accept

Items that aren't eligible for trade-in are tripods, drones, gimbals, dark room equipment, studio lighting or antique cameras. Additionally, we won't accept non-working gear.

Trade In Your Camera at Abt

Now is the perfect time to upgrade your camera or get some money to spend on something else you want at Abt. Either way, we're happy to give old cameras new life and offer a fun event for our customers. If you plan to buy a new camera, check out our camera classes in-person in the Inspiration Studio on the second floor of the store, or watch the stream on our YouTube channel.
