CES 2026: TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV

New TVs are always a topic of discussion at CES, and this year the projected trend is new Micro RGB display technology. TCL was one such brand predicted to launch new models with this feature, then surprised us all with the announcement of the new X11L SQD-Mini LED TV.

SQD-Mini LED: What Does it Mean?

So…what is SQD, and how does this TV differ from the mini LED options already on the market? SQD stands for Super Quantum Dot, and it uses pure white backlighting as opposed to the red, green and blue lights found in the newest Micro RGB or RGB-Mini LED screens. According to TCL, this screen achieves "100% BT2020 color," which basically means that it will offer a superior color gamut. With 20,000 dimming zones, viewers will enjoy more precise lighting during dimly-lit scenes that non-OLED screens can struggle with. The X11L will also feature TCL's Deep Color System (which combines Super QLED, TCL UltraColor Filter and the TCL Advanced Color Purity Algorithm) with the new TCL Halo Control System for ultimate color, brightness and contrast. All these features come together for a vivid, accurate picture. Images are bright, clear and lifelike in any room lighting.

Other Cool Specs

Tech keeps getting thinner, and the TCL X11L is no exception; its UltraThin Depth design measures less than .8" and the ZeroBorder™ panel creates the illusion of a truly edge-to-edge screen. It's also TCL's first TV to feature four HDMI 2.1 ports that support a 4K 144Hz refresh rate, making the X11L perfect for a premium gaming setup. Despite its ultra-thin design, TCL's new SQD-Mini LED features a row of speakers by Bang & Olufsen at the bottom of the screen for high-performance audio. And of course, because AI is everywhere, it will also feature Google Gemini interactive AI to help you find exactly what you want to watch. For now, the TCL X11L is only available in 75", 85" and 98" sizes, starting at $6,999.99. It will be available later this month.
