KBIS 2026: Whirlpool Laundry with UV Clean
Abt is at KBIS 2026, and we're excited to explore what Whirlpool has to offer (including the new refrigerators with nugget ice) and all we've yet to see. We stepped out of the kitchen section to take a look at the latest in the brand's laundry appliances. It's exciting to see an industry-first from the brand: UV Clean laundry technology designed to deliver a better clean to the fabrics you wash. Meet the brand's latest front-load laundry tower that can clean both gently and powerfully.
Powerful UV Light Technology
When it comes to washing your clothes, choosing cycles can be difficult—and it can sometimes feel like you're stuck between choosing a cycle that's clean and a cycle that's gentle on your fabrics. Whirlpool's latest UV-light technology helps kill bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa during certain cycles. Instead of using a more powerful heat or more physical washing, the UV technology works to kill bacteria. Your fabrics will stay at their best for longer, and your clothes will be properly cleaned with this new tech from Whirlpool. Currently, the brand is showing off the technology in a stacked washer-dryer unit, but the UV Clean tech could make its way into other Whirlpool laundry appliances in the future.
