Industry-First UV Clean Technology
At the heart of Whirlpool's new laundry towers is UV Clean Technology, a first for laundry appliances. While in the past, high heat has been used to disinfect clothes, bedding or towels, the new laundry towers use UV to reduce bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus (AKA the bacteria that causes staph infections). Available on select cycles, you can ensure that harmful bacteria is killed without damaging more delicate fabrics with high heat.
Fresher Clothes & Interior with FreshFlow™ Vent System
Another standout feature of Whirlpool's new laundry towers with UV Clean is the improved FreshFlow™ Vent System. In addition to UV Clean Technology, a host of features ensure clothes and the interior of the machine stay fresh and clean. The Dry Drum Cycle removes mold-causing moisture, and antimicrobial protection helps prevent bacteria buildup. The FanFresh® Option uses a fan to keep clothes fresh by occasionally tumbling items until you can put them in the dryer; the tumbling can also help gently dry light items without having to run a full drying cycle.
Gentle Care for Delicate Fabrics
Whirlpool's UV Clean Technology skips harsh high heat, but that's not the only way the new laundry towers are gentle on clothes. The Handwash Cycle lets you choose your preferred water temperature and the soil level, then uses gentle agitation to gently loosen soil and lift stains while maintaining fabrics. It's the ideal combination of effective cleaning and gentle care. The laundry tower also features Intelligent Dry technology that uses sensors to detect moisture levels and temperature to prevent overdrying, so you don't open your machine to ruined delicates or shrunken sweaters.

The UV Clean option can be turned on for the Normal, Heavy Duty, Handwash, Whites, Sanitize and Bedding cycles. It cannot be used with the Delicates or Quick Wash cycles.
