Technivorm Coffee Makers at Abt

Technivorm at Abt
Coffee has become a cornerstone of everyday life, but getting that authentically rich flavor with your coffee maker at home is rare. Luckily, this is the very goal Technivorm has pursued for decades. Handmade in the Netherlands, Technivorm has been assembling their high-quality coffee makers since 1969. They have over 50 years of experience in the coffee industry, working to perfect the brewing process. Their machines are designed to get the most flavor out of your coffee grounds in just four to six minutes, similar to a complex pour-over process or a professionally made drink from a cafe. Their coffee makers are thoughtfully engineered with features like a copper heating element to uniquely shaped outlet arms and brew baskets. Technivorm evaluates their brewers using the "four T's of coffee": time, turbulence, temperature and total dissolved solids (TDS). According to the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), a machine that is able to produce a perfect ratio within the ideal ranges of all four T's is a "golden cup." Technivorm is industry-certified and creates a golden cup with every single brew. While their appliances are durably designed and long-lasting, their construction is also sustainable. Most components of the brewers are recyclable and made of raw materials, minimizing their environmental footprint. The plastic elements of their machines are BPA- free, inexpensive and damage-resistant to provide optimal performance and consistent brews. Features like auto-off power and power-efficient hotplates are built into their coffee makers as well to save more energy. While Technivorm has many different coffee maker models, they all share the same brewing technology, different baskets, brewing capacities and more.
Brewing Perfection
Technivorm produces four types of coffee makers: glass carafe, thermal carriage, cup-one and a cafe/office model. All of them have a quiet brew process, a copper element that heats from 196°F to 205°F, and an outlet arm and brew basket for pour-over style. The glass carafe models have 40 ounces of water capacity and brew up to 10 cups of coffee. Glass carafe models have a cone-shaped brew basket and an independent hotplate that can hold a heat of 175°F to 185°F to ensure your coffee doesn't burn. If you're looking for a small kitchen appliance that matches your home's aesthetic, the glass carafe models come in all the vibrant colors of the rainbow. Thermal carafe models can either have 42.27 ounces of water capacity (10 cups of coffee) or 33.8 ounces of water capacity (eight cups of coffee). The carafe is made of double-walled stainless steel in order to keep your coffee hot for up to an hour, equipped with a brew-thru lid and a travel lid. If you're interested in collecting more carafe sizes or lids, Abt offers Technivorm accessories as well. The cup-one model is a single-serve coffee maker that has 11.2 ounces of water capacity. It's a perfect alternative to pod machines as they produce less waste and they come with enough filters to make 240 cups of coffee. They also have a removable cup holder that allows users to fit cups of different sizes under the brew basket. The Cafe/Office models are named for their large water capacity of 60 ounces, making up to 15 cups of coffee and ideal for gatherings and groups of people. While this model also uses a thermal carafe, it's the only coffee maker that relies on a flat-bottom brew basket.
