Preparing For Your Abt Delivery

About Abt

In this video, we give you helpful tips on what to do and expect on the day of your Abt delivery. We work hard to ensure the safety of our drivers and the products we carry and we thank you for doing your part to make this process easy and enjoyable. On the morning of the scheduled delivery, you will receive a confirmation call or text message, as well as a call 30 minutes prior to the arrival of our drivers. Abt requires that someone 18 years of age or older be present at the location to accept the delivery. Depending on the installation time and the number of products being delivered, our employees may be in your home for several hours so be sure to plan accordingly. Please secure parking for the drivers and clear all outdoor walkways, driveways and indoor paths to the place of installation so the drivers can move your appliance easily. If you're a pet owner, please put your pets away in a safe place as drivers will be moving heavy objects and entering and exiting the home several times throughout the process. Once your product is out of the box, be sure to check for any damages and ask the drivers any questions you may have so they can help.

Preparation Steps for the Day of Delivery

You'll receive a confirmation call or text on the morning of your scheduled delivery, as well as a call 30 minutes before arrival. You'll know we're on the way!
An adult 18 years of age or older must be present to accept delivery.
Depending upon what was ordered and whether you need it installed, we could be in your home for several hours; please be prepared. Our drivers will require secure parking throughout the delivery.
Please keep your pets in a secure and safe place. Our employees will be entering and exiting your home often as we move and install heavy appliances.
Please clear a complete pathway between your door and the location where the product will be placed or installed. That could mean emptying cabinets near a dishwasher installation area and clearing snow from the driveway.
Once your product is unboxed, inspect for any damage. If you find any, note it and ask the drivers any questions you might have.

When purchasing from Abt there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of your new refrigerator:

1. Make sure there’s a clear path from the entryway to the fridge.
2. Remove any personal items from the outside of the refrigerator
3. When the drivers notify you that they’re on their way, remove all food from the refrigerator.
4. Please make sure someone 18yrs or older is home to meet the delivery installer and sign for the product.

What you'll need:

All required installation parts will be included with your installation purchase
110V grounded 3-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord
Icemaker or ice and water dispenser connections: A working shut-off valve must be corrosion-free and accessible

Empty your old refrigerator*

1. Make sure there is a clear path from the entryway to the dishwasher.
2. Remove all items from under your sink
3. Ensure the electrical panel or fuse box is accessible so the power to the dishwasher can be
turned off during installation.
4. Please make sure someone 18yrs or older is home to meet the delivery installer and sign for the product.

A water supply line with shut-off valve must be located under the sink or behind the dishwasher
An electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord

1. Make sure there is a clear path from the entryway to the washer and dryer.
2. Make sure the area near the laundry is clear of any clutter.
3. Remove all clothing items from inside the washer and dryer.
4. Please make sure someone 18yrs or older is home to meet with the delivery installer and sign for the product.

Dryer Delivery

Gas Heated Dryers:

All required installation parts will be included with your installation purchase
A natural gas supply line (no propane hookups) with shut-off valve must be located directly behind the appliance
110V grounded 3-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord

Electric Heated Dryers:

All required installation parts will be included with your installation purchase
An appropriate 240V working outlet must be available at time of delivery and within reach of the power cord

Preparation Steps:

Existing dryer must be empty*
Existing dryer should not be in use for at least 2 hours prior to delivery

*If you paid for recycling, existing appliances must be disconnected prior to delivery. If you purchased installation, Abt will disconnect the existing appliances.

1. Make sure there is a clear path from the entryway to the range.
2. Clear at least 2 feet of countertop on both sides of the range.
3. Remove any items inside of, or on the range including any broiler pans or cookie sheets.
4. Do not cook anything on or inside the range 2 hours prior to the installer's arrival
5. Please make sure someone 18yrs or older is home to meet the delivery installer and sign for the product.

Range Delivery

What you'll need (Gas Heated Range):

All required installation parts will be included with your installation purchase
A natural gas supply line (no propane hookups) with shut-off valve must be located directly behind the appliance
110V grounded 3-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord and in working condition

What you'll need (Electric Heated Range):

All required installation parts will be included with your installation purchase
An appropriate 240V working outlet must be available at time of delivery and within reach of the power cord

When purchasing from Abt there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of your new microhood.

1. Make sure there is a clear path from the entryway to the microwave.
2. Remove any racks or turntables from the Microwave.
3. Clean out the cabinet above the Microwave
4. Clean off the counter top to the left and right of the cooking surface below the microwave.
5. Do not use your range top or oven for 2 hours prior to the driver’s arrival. The installers may need to place a protective cover over the cooking surface.
Please make sure someone 18yrs or older is home to meet the delivery installer and sign for the product.

Over-The-Range Microwave / Microhood Delivery

What you'll need:

110V grounded 3-prong electrical outlet must be within reach of the power cord

Preparation Steps:

Make sure your old microwave is empty*

*If you paid for recycling, existing appliances must be disconnected prior to delivery. If you purchased installation, Abt will disconnect the existing appliances.
