(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

When the filter needs to be replaced, the refrigerator will display the words "Filter Change."

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Locate the filter door on the top center of the interior of the refrigerator.
  2. Squeeze both ends of the filter door to release the latch; this should result in the door swinging down.
  3. Rotate the filter cartridge counter clockwise, and then pull the cartridge end that is closest to you out of the filter compartment to remove the filter.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Once removed, insert the new filter into the filter compartment, and then turn the filter clockwise to lock it into place.
  2. Then close the filter door to complete the installation.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Option" button until the "Filter Change" option is selected with an arrow.
  2. Then, press either the "+" or "-" button to complete the selection.
  3. The filter display message should now be reset.

The Required Filter Model For Your Refrigerator Is BORPLFTR20.

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

When the filter is near the end of its usable life, the refrigerator will display the word "Order." When the filter needs to be replaced, the display will show the word "Replace."

To Remove The Old Filter, Follow These Steps:

  1. Locate the filter on the top right side of the refrigerator.
  2. Once located, pull the tab towards you and then pull it down.
  3. Then, turn the old filter counter clockwise to remove it from the filter holder.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. To insert the new filter, simply remove the seal and insert the new filter cartridge into the filter holder.
  2. Once inserted, rotate the filter clockwise until it stops to complete the replacement process.
  3. Once completed, close the filter cover by lifting it back into place until you hear a click.
  4. This will complete the installation process.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Filter Reset" button for 3 seconds.
  2. The filter display message should now be reset.

Bosch UltraClarity Refrigerator Water Filter - BORPLFTR10

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

To see the status of your current filter, check the refrigerator display icon that contains 3 bars. The 3 bars correspond with the 6-month lifespan of the filter, meaning that each bar represents 2 months. After the 6-month lifespan has been used up, the 3 bars will flash indicating that it is time to replace the filter.

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Locate the filter on the top of the interior of the refrigerator.
  2. Once located, pull the door forward and then downward to open the door and expose the filter.
  3. Then, rotate the old filter counter clockwise and then pull the filter to remove it from the filter holder.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. To insert the new filter, simply remove the seal and insert the new filter cartridge into the filter holder.
  2. Once inserted, rotate the filter clockwise until it stops to complete the replacement process.
  3. Once completed, close the filter cover.
  4. It is suggested to dispense at least a gallon of water from the system in order to remove any air that has been trapped within.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Light / Filter" button for 3 seconds, until the display stops flashing.
  2. The filter display message should now be reset.

Bosch UltraClarity Refrigerator Water Filter - BORPLFTR10

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

When the filter is near the end of its usable life, the refrigerator will display the word "Filter" on the bottom left corner of the display. When the filter needs to be replaced, the display will read "FILTERCHG."

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Locate the filter on the bottom left side of the base of the refrigerator.
  2. Then, rotate the filter counter clockwise until it easily slides straight out.
  3. Once out, remove the filter cap and place it onto the new filter cartridge.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. To insert the new filter, simply push the filter into the base of the unit and rotate it clockwise.
  2. The filter should now be fully replaced.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Ice" and "Super Cool" buttons for 3 seconds.
  2. The filter display message should now be reset.

Electrolux PureAdvantage Water Filtration System - EWF01

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

After the refrigerator has dispensed the standard amount of water through the system, the "Water Filter Status" light will appear on the touch panel. This lets you know that the filter needs to be changed. (For PureAdvantage Filters™, the standard amount of water that can be filtered is approximately 400 gallons.)

*If the refrigerator hasn't been used for a period of time, such as during a move, it is recommended to change the filter prior to reinstallation.

**It is not necessary to turn the water off when replacing the filter, though some water may release. (It is a good idea to have a towel on hand just in case)

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Start by turning off the ice maker on the control panel.
  2. Locate the filter near the bottom of the condiment bin.
  3. Now, push the filter release button above the filter cartridge to disconnect it.
  4. Then slide it straight out of the housing.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Remove both of the caps that are covering the inlet and exit of the filter.
  2. Then, slide the new filter cartridge gently into the housing until it stops against the snap-in connector at the back of the housing.
  3. Push firmly until the cartridge snaps into place (you should hear 2 clicks).
  4. If put in correctly, the filter should be flush with the filter release button.
  5. Once the filter is flush, turn on the ice maker on the control panel.
  6. Now, Press a drinking glass against the water dispenser while checking for any leaks coming out of the filter housing. (Any spurts or sputters that occur are due to the system purging air out of the dispenser. It may take about 1.5 minutes to start dispensing water.
  7. It is suggested to now Prime the Water Supply System by dispensing water from the system for about 3 minutes, in order to flush the system and plumbing connections of any impurities.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Filter Status" button on the control panel for 3 seconds.
  2. When the display changes from "Replace" to "Good" the filter display message should now be reset.

Electrolux PureAdvantage Water Filtration System - EWF01

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

When the filter is ready to be changed, the refrigerator will display the "Water Filter Replacement" icon: Fisher Paykel company brand graphic

*It is not necessary to shut-off the water supply prior to replacing the filter.

To Remove The Old Filter, Follow These Steps:

  1. The filter will be located externally on the water supply line.
  2. To disconnect the filter, grasp it firmly and twist counter clockwise until it easily pulls away from the filter head. (It is not unusual for a few drops of water to be present when the filter is removed)

To Install The New Filter, Follow These Steps:

  1. First, remove the protective cap that is covering the new filters spigot (head).
  2. Then, push the filter cartridge up towards the filter head while rotating it in a clockwise direction.
  3. The filter should now be fully replaced.

To Reset The Filter Display Message, Follow These Steps:

*Do not reset the filter display prior to replacing the filter, or the filter monitoring system will be inaccurate

  1. Press and hold Fisher Paykel company brand graphic and + for 4 seconds.
  2. Once reset the Fisher Paykel company brand graphic icon will turn off

When the filter is ready to be changed, the refrigerator will display the "Water Filter Replacement" icon.

*It is not necessary to shut-off the water supply prior to replacing the filter.

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Before replacing the filter, it is necessary to turn off the ice maker power switch.
  2. Once off, locate the filter on the top right rear side of refrigerator.
  3. Once located, push the old filter on the end/face to remove it.
  4. The filter should now slide straight out of the housing.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. First, remove the filter packaging.
  2. Then, push the filter cartridge slowly straight in to the filter housing using the alignment guide.
  3. Once inserted, push the filter firmly until the cartridge snaps into place. (If done correctly, you should hear a click as the cartridge engages the snap-in connector.)
  4. Now, press a drinking glass against the water dispenser while checking to see if any leaks are coming from the filter housing. (Any spurts or sputters that occur as the system purges air out of the dispenser are normal.
  5. After filling one glass of water, continue flushing the system for about 4 minutes to ensure all impurities are out of the system.
  6. Turn on the ice maker to finish the installation of the new filter.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Water Filter" button on the Ice & Water Dispenser for 3 seconds.
  2. When the display changes from Red to Green, the filter status has been reset.

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Once off, locate the filter on the top right rear side of refrigerator.
  2. Once located, twist the filter handle to a horizontal position.
  3. The filter should now slide straight out of the housing.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. First, remove the filter packaging.
  2. Then, push the filter cartridge slowly straight in to the filter housing with the handle in a horizontal positon.
  3. Once inserted, twist the handle 90° to the right, until it snaps into place in a vertical position.
  4. Now, press a glass against the water dispenser while checking to see if any leaks are coming from the filter housing. (Any spurts or sputters that occur as the system purges air out of the dispenser are normal.)
  5. After filling one glass of water, continue flushing the system for about 3 minutes (Approx. 1.5 gallons) and discard to ensure all impurities are out of the system.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Water Filter" button on the Ice & Water Dispenser for 3 seconds.
  2. When the display changes from Replace to Good, the filter status has been reset.

Pay Close Attention To Which Model Your Refrigerator Begins With.

When the filter needs to be replaced, a "Replacement Indicator" light will illuminate on the temperature display.

The Required Filter Model For Your Refrigerator Is MWF. The current filter is now the XWF (on select models manufactured after June 2018).

GE Replacement Refrigerator Water And Ice Filter - MWF

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Slowly turn the old cartridge to the left. If fully turned, the cartridge should fall out naturally. (Do not pull on the cartridge, if it does not come out easily make sure that the filter is fully twisted to the left.)

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Remove the protective foil from the end of the cartridge.
  2. Fill the replacement cartridge with water from a tap to allow for better flow from the dispenser immediately after installation.
  3. Line up the arrows on the cartridge and the cartridge holder.
  4. Slowly rotate the cartridge clockwise until it stops. (You should feel it "click" as it locks into place.)
  5. Run water from the dispenser for about 3 minutes (approximately 1.5 gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold the "Reset Water Filter" button for 3 seconds.
  2. If done correctly, the filter display message should be reset.

GE Replacement Slim Water Filter - MSWF

(The Filter Should Be Replaced Every 6 Months.)

For Models That Have A Replacement Indicator Light:

The replacement indicator light on the dispenser will turn orange when the water filter needs to be replaced soon.

When the light turns red or the flow of water to the dispenser or ice maker decreases, replace the water filter immediately.

For Models Without A Replacement Indicator Light:

The filter should be replaced every 6 months. If the flow of water to the dispenser or ice maker decreases replace the filter.

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. Slowly turn the old cartridge to the left. If fully turned, the cartridge should fall out naturally. (Do not pull on the cartridge; if it does not come out easily make sure that the filter is fully twisted to the left.)
  2. It is suggested to apply the month and year sticker to the new cartridge to remind you to replace the filter in 6 months.
  3. *If you happen to be replacing a SmartWater cartridge with an adapter, it must be removed before installing the cartridge. To remove the adapter, simply turn it to the left for about a 1/4 of a turn.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Remove the protective foil from the end of the cartridge.
  2. Fill the replacement cartridge with water from a tap to allow for better flow from the dispenser immediately after installation.
  3. Line up the arrows on the cartridge and the cartridge holder.
  4. Slowly rotate the cartridge clockwise (to the right) until it stops. (You should feel it "click" as it locks into place.)

GE Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter - RPWFE

To See The Status Of Your Filter:

For Touch Screen Models

Your refrigerator will display a status message on the screen when the water filter needs replacing. (The display will automatically reset upon replacement.)

For Non-Touch Screen Models

Your Refrigerator will illuminate a "Filter Indicator" light on the screen when the filter needs to be replaced.

To Remove The Old Filter:

  1. To start, open the filter door.
  2. Once open, pull on the bottom of the cartridge to allow it to swing outward.
  3. When the filter cartridge can no longer swing, gently pull to unseat it from the cartridge holder.
  4. A small amount of water may drip out.
  5. * DO NOT TWIST THE FILTER CARTRIDGE!

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Align the top of the filter cartridge with the cartridge holder with the word front facing outward.
  2. Push the cartridge toward the rear of the unit until it is fully seated. (Do Not Twist The Cartridge!)
  3. While continuing to ensure that the cartridge is fully seated in the holder, gently swing the filter inward until it is in position. (If the filter does not swing gently, check to ensure the filter is properly aligned and fully seated within the cartridge holder.)
  4. You may now close the filter door.
  5. To complete the replacement, run about 2 gallons of water through the cold-water dispenser. (It will take approximately 5 minutes.)
  6. **DO NOT USE THE HANDS-FREE AUTO-FILL FEATURE!

  7. A newly installed filter cartridge will cause the water to spurt from the dispenser, due to air being removed from the system.

To Reset The Filter Message (Non-Touch Screen Models):

  1. Hold the "Reset Filter" button for 3 seconds to reset the filter display.
  2. If done correctly, the filter display message should be reset.

  5. The filter should now easily come out of the filter holder.

To Install The New Filter:

  1. Remove the red cap from the new filter while checking to see if any of the O-rings are damaged. If they are damaged, leaking may occur. If not, move onto the next step.
  2. Push the new filter straight into the filter holder.
  3. Once in the holder, turn the filter to the right to lock it into place. (The arrow on the unit should line up with the lock indicator on the filter.)
  4. Now, put the light cover and the shelf back into the refrigerator.
  5. Once everything is back into place, it is advised to press and hold a cup in the dispenser until the water starts dispensing. It may take up to 5 minutes, so be patient.
  6. When the water starts flowing, dispose of the first 2 gallons in order to fully flush out the lines.
  7. Once the first 2 gallons are disposed of, open the refrigerator and freezer to check for any leaks that may be coming from the filter.

  3. Once in the holder, turn the filter to the right to lock it into place. (The arrow on the unit should line up with the lock indicator on the filter.)
  4. Now, put the light cover and the shelf back into the refrigerator.
  5. Once everything is back into place, it is advised to press and hold a cup in the dispenser until the water starts dispensing. It may take up to 5 minutes, so be patient.
  6. When the water starts flowing, dispose of the first 2 gallons in order to fully flush out the lines.
  7. Once the first 2 gallons are disposed of, open the refrigerator and freezer to check for any leaks that may be coming from the filter.

  2. Then, push the filter with the cap on in a horizontal position all the way into the opening in the base panel.
  3. Rotate the filter cartridge clockwise 180 degrees until the filter cap is once again in a horizontal position.
  4. The filter should now be fully installed.
  5. After installing the new filter, discard the first 24 hours of ice production.

To Reset The Filter Display Message:

  1. Press and hold both the "Filter" change indicator button and the "Access" button for approximately 5 seconds until a beep is heard.
  2. Once the "Filter" change indicator goes away, the filter indicator has been reset.
