Shop Vinyl Records at Abt with our Personalized Music Finder
According to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), by mid-2024, vinyl record sales reached $8.7 billion, which is a record high as streaming continues growing in popularity. More music lovers are turning to physical media these days. Why? There are plenty of reasons audiophiles rely on vinyl over digital transfers, the biggest being superior sound quality. The vinyl records featured in our music finder use an analog format, which produces a richer, warmer sound with far more depth than a compressed track. Outside of this turntable listening experience, vinyl records can act as art pieces too. As you put an album on to spin, you can display album artwork like you would a framed photo or a painting for all to admire (just be sure to clean it before playing). Because vinyl was one of the most popular physical music formats from the 1950s through the 80s, plenty of listeners also enjoy purchasing records for the nostalgia factor as a way to connect to music history.
Not to mention that these older albums have the potential to become classics or rare commodities over time, pushing collectors to build their vinyl library for sheer value. If you've been a loyal streamer up until now, you may not know where to begin. Which records would diversify your music library the most? Which artists or albums should be staples in your listening routine? How do you know which tunes will shine most in analog format? To make this shopping journey easier, our team here at Abt built this handy music finder tool. This feature is designed to match you with the music that will best suit your musical taste. Plus, using the music finder is a fairly speedy process. Keep reading and we'll tell you how to use this tool to its fullest potential.
Using The Music Finder: Our Abt Audiophiles Are Here To Help
If you haven't already noticed, our music finder tool is extremely easy to use. At the top of the page, you'll notice several buttons filled in with a variety of musical genres. Soul music incorporates elements of rhythm, blues and gospel to create truly impassioned songs. Funk/soul refers to the dance music that was most popular in the 1960s. Many would refer to funk/soul music as "groovy", due to its unique rhythm and strong bass line. Hip hop focuses on strong beats over rhythm, and features a rapping vocal track rather than singing. Jazz music relies on blues and swing notes, improvisation and complex cords typically played by pianos, horns, guitars and a bass. R&B is similar to hip-hop, but it's considered to be a blend of many music genres, including soul, jazz, gospel and blues. The R&B albums in our music finder tool are known for emotional vocals, smooth rhythms and strong beats.
Rock music is typically fast-paced and gritty, with loud drums, complex guitar melodies and rebellious lyricism. Pop music is the most mainstream genre of all that's featured in our music finder, defined by repetitive beats, simple lyrics and catchy melodies that often creep their way into the top 40 music charts. If you love both of these last two genres, check out our rock/pop genre on the music finder. No matter what music you love most, just click on your favorite genre and we'll filter our records for you. Learn more about listening to these discs by reviewing our turntable buying guide.
