Final day for storm-related debris collection set in Northfield
By: John P. Houston August 16, 2011
The final day for Northfield residents to leave flood debris on the curb for pick-up is Thursday, Aug. 18.
Waste Management will perform a separate pick-up from its regular waste collection schedule, and items are asked to be bundled in boxes or bags, when possible, according to a note posted to the village website.
"White goods," such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, water heaters, etc., can be included, the note said, but the village asks that doors be removed for child safety.
For a fee, residents can recycle televisions, appliances, air conditioners and other electronics through Abt Electronics. The company's website, abt.com, has more details.
