Canon 7327C002 Speedlite EL-5 Ver. 2 External Camera Flash
The Canon Speedlite EL-5 Ver. 2, manufacturer model 7327C002, brings professional-capability lighting to advanced photographers and working imagemakers. It is designed for rapid recycling, dependable flash output and quick changes through event, portrait, action and multi-flash assignments. Its included rechargeable LP-EL lithium-ion battery provides approximately 350 full-power flashes and normal-flash recycle times of approximately 0.1-1.2 seconds, helping reduce battery changes and keep the camera ready as moments unfold.1
From deep depth-of-field scenes in dark conditions to subtle fill that softens shadows, the EL-5 Ver. 2 offers broad and precise control. Maximum energy reaches 76 Ws, while manual output extends from full power down to 1/1024 and the Guide Number is 60 m at ISO 100 with 200mm flash coverage. Automatic or manual zoom spans 24-200mm for full-frame cameras, with a 14mm wide panel when broader illumination is needed. The flash can sustain approximately 95 or more continuous full-output flashes without a cooling fan, supporting demanding shooting sequences.
On camera or placed remotely, this Speedlite is built to keep the lighting workflow connected. Radio-based Canon Wireless E-TTL sender and receiver operation reaches approximately 164 ft / 50 m and can coordinate as many as 16 communicating units across up to five groups.2 Through the Multi-function Shoe, compatible Canon EOS mirrorless cameras gain closer camera-flash coordination, direct menu access and support for custom flash modes; the flash cannot be shoe-mounted to bodies that use the original 5-pin connector.3 C1, C2 and C3 recall saved setups, while the joystick, select dial and reflective-memory LCD put adjustments and status within easy reach. A five-level LED modeling lamp helps preview lighting and shadows, and Canon Camera Connect can adjust wireless flash settings, release the shutter and review results from a smartphone on compatible setups. Dust- and moisture-resistant sealing around exterior joints and the shoe lock supports work in difficult conditions.
Key Features
Radio Wireless Lighting
In sender or receiver roles, the flash supports E-TTL II / E-TTL autoflash, manual flash, stroboscopic flash and group firing. Groups A-E can be configured separately, giving photographers flexible control over single-light arrangements and complex multi-flash scenes.
Multi-function Shoe Integration
The shoe's digital connection checks that the flash is properly installed before communication begins. Compatible EOS R-series cameras can open flash-function and quick-group-control screens, bringing key lighting adjustments into the camera interface.
Custom Flash Modes C1, C2 and C3
Instead of rebuilding settings as conditions change, photographers can store configurations for different lighting tasks. Compatible camera custom modes can be linked with flash configurations for transitions between E-TTL and manual operation or between scene and face lighting.
Modeling Lamp Coordination
The continuous LED light assists with low-light setup and makes it easier to judge coverage before exposure. In a radio multi-flash arrangement, sender control can also switch modeling lamps on compatible receiver units on or off.
Camera Connect Workflow
A smartphone becomes a practical control point when flashes are positioned out of reach, multiple lights need attention or assistants are limited. This remote workflow lets the photographer remain focused on the set rather than moving between each light.
Sealed for Demanding Conditions
Sealing at the exterior-cover joints and a rubber seal around the shoe-lock mechanism help prevent dust and moisture entry. Resistance performance is equivalent to the EOS R5, supporting assignments in difficult shooting environments.

The flash head provides automatic or manual zoom coverage from 24mm to 200mm on full-frame cameras. A manual wide panel expands coverage to 14mm, though Canon notes that it does not cover the shooting angles of view of the EF15mm f/2.8 Fisheye or EF8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM.
