Cicada Audio CHD69SD 6x9-Inch Silicone Saddlebag Speaker Divider

The Cicada Audio CHD69SD silicone saddlebag speaker divider uses custom-molded, high-grade silicone to separate a 6 x 9 in coaxial or horn-coaxial speaker from a Pro Mid-bass driver. Designed for systems using CMB8.S4 or CMB10.S4 drivers, it helps prevent the coaxial speaker from acting as a passive radiator for the mid-bass woofer. Proper amplifier/DSP crossover setup is required for speaker performance within the saddlebag's limited air volume.

Features

  • Custom-Molded High-Grade Silicone
Provides a silicone barrier between the saddlebag's coaxial speaker and mid-bass driver.
  • 6 x 9 in Coaxial or Horn-Coaxial Applications
Acoustic separation helps keep the mid-bass woofer from driving the coaxial speaker passively.
  • CMB8.S4 or CMB10.S4 Compatibility
Supports saddlebag systems built with either Pro Mid-bass driver.
  • 250 Hz Crossover Requirement
Use an amplifier/DSP crossover slope of 12-24 dB per octave or higher.

Footnotes:

Warning: Use an amplifier/DSP crossover setting of 250 Hz at 12-24 dB per octave or higher. A lower setting can cause distortion and speaker damage because of the limited air volume.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A divider acoustically separates a coaxial or horn-coaxial speaker from a Pro Mid-bass driver in a saddlebag audio installation. This helps prevent the coaxial speaker from behaving as a passive radiator for the mid-bass woofer.
  • The divider is intended for saddlebag audio systems using CMB8.S4 or CMB10.S4 Pro Mid-bass drivers, separating the mid-bass driver from a 6 x 9 in coaxial or horn-coaxial speaker.
  • The manufacturer requires an amplifier or DSP crossover setting of 250 Hz at 12-24 dB per octave or higher. Because the available air volume is restricted, a lower setting can cause distortion and speaker damage. Damage caused by an insufficient crossover setting is not covered by warranty.
  • The manufacturer's general warranty policy requires the original purchaser to provide proof of purchase for a manufacturer-defect claim within two years of the original purchase. Submit the online claim form and obtain written authorization and an RA number before shipping; phone and email claims are not processed. Speaker damage caused by an insufficient crossover setting is excluded from coverage.
