What is the Energy Star Center?

Energy Star is a government-run program controlled by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). When appliances are Energy Star rated or certified, it typically means they're 10-20% more energy efficient than average models. Since 1992, Energy Star has assisted businesses and families in America in achieving four billion metric tons of greenhouse gas reductions, saving five trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity and avoiding over $500 billion in energy costs.
