Hooker Furniture Dining Room Big Sky Buffet - 6700-75900-80
Hooker Furniture 6700-75900-80 Dining Room Big Sky Buffet in Vintage Natural
Warm and rustic with a silhouette that evokes the weight, heft and heritage of beam construction, the Big Sky Buffett is crafted of Pecky Hickory Veneers with a solid wood edged top. The buffet is finished in Vintage Natural, an organic finish that reveals the authentic knots and wood grain patterns. The four doors have soft-close hinges, and there’s one self-closing drawer and one adjustable shelf behind each pair of doors. The right side drawer has a removable felt liner and the left side drawer has a removable silverware tray. The interior is finished in Charred Timber, inspired by the restorative beauty of a fire-ravaged forest. The natural beauty and near mystical experience of the American wilderness inspires a spirited collection from Hooker Furniture, a celebration of dramatic vistas and the freedom to roam, a land of rough-hewn timber and towering snow-capped peaks, boundless plains, and cool, clear mountain lakes. Hooker brings home a dream of wide-open spaces and a life lived in tandem with iconic landscapes with furnishings that evoke the weight, heft and heritage of post and beam construction, the mark and artistry of true craftspeople, and substantive, thoughtful designs right for today. Watch for warm, rustic, hickory veneer, and rich finishes like charred timber, dusk, and avalanche, organic textures like burlap and top grain leather, forged hardware, and classic moldings for the traditionalist. Those with a more modern bent will gravitate toward the clean lines of waterfall edges, crosshatch surfaces and planking details that speak to authenticity and the hand of the maker. Welcome to the peaceful, easy feeling of Big Sky. It’s time to simply breathe.

Construction
- Finish Construction: Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.
- Frame Construction: Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.
- Drawer Construction: Hooker Furniture offers full height, full depth and full width drawers for maximum storage capacity. All drawers have strong, time-tested English or French dovetail construction, for years of problem-free use. Plywood drawer bottoms are attached to plywood drawer sides for strength and durability. Metal side guides or wood on wood guide systems operate smoothly.
Care & Cleaning
Some of our most unique styles are crafted with high-quality or specialty wood veneers over a solid or engineered wood substrate. Our veneers are hand selected to add movement to a piece while minimizing the risk of expansion and contraction found in some solid wood products.
- Address spills immediately by wiping with a dry, soft cloth.
- Use coasters, trivets, and placemats for protection against hot or wet items.
- Dust regularly with a soft, damp cloth, followed by a dry one.
- Spot clean as needed with a soft cloth and mild soap.
- Do not use furniture polish, ammonia-based cleaners, or other chemicals as they will leave a wax buildup and will change the appearance of the wood over time.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, chemical solvents, strong detergents, furniture polish and cleaners with bleach.
- Avoid lengthy exposure to direct sunlight (unless outdoor-specific items) as it may cause finish to change.
- Always lift and carry, do not drag when moving furniture.
