The Leica 10689 SL3-P Vario Kit is a full-frame mirrorless camera kit with 44 MP BSI imaging and two constant-f/2.8 Vario-Elmarit-SL zoom lenses spanning 24-200mm. Hybrid autofocus and up to 40 fps continuous shooting with AFc at 12 bit using the electronic shutter support fast-changing scenes, while up to 176 MP Multishot capture and 8K open-gate video expand creative options.¹ Five-axis in-body stabilization is rated up to 5 stops. Two Constant-f/2.8 Zooms, Wide-Angle to Telephoto

The included Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH. and Vario-Elmarit-SL 70-200 f/2.8 ASPH. lenses give you complementary ways to compose a scene. Move from a wide landscape to tighter event coverage without giving up the f/2.8 maximum aperture when switching lenses. Both use the Leica L-Mount, part of the open L-Mount Alliance system, so this kit is an interchangeable-lens foundation rather than a fixed-lens camera.

44 MP Full-Frame Detail and 176 MP Multishot

A back-side illuminated CMOS sensor and Maestro IV processor underpin image quality that emphasizes fine detail, low-light capability, nuanced tones and color. Choose the camera's 44 MP or 26 MP output options and record DNG raw files, JPGs or both. When extra resolution is the priority, the separate Multishot mode delivers up to 176 MP capture for detail-focused work.

Hybrid Subject Tracking and Fast Continuous Capture

Phase detection, contrast measurement and depth mapping work together in the hybrid AF system, with 819 phase-detection points and recognition options for people, animals and cars. Human detection includes eyes, faces and bodies, while Intelligent AF refocuses when the scene changes. For fast sequences, continuous AF remains active in the drive modes; 14-bit electronic-shutter shooting is available up to 25 fps, alongside the faster 12-bit options. Five-axis stabilization supports handheld capture, and focus peaking plus magnification assist when you prefer manual focus.

8K Open-Gate Video and Production Tools

Native 3:2 open-gate footage gives video creators room to reframe for vertical delivery, while 4K capture up to 120 fps adds slow-motion possibilities. The camera also offers 6K-class recording, internal ProRes and HDMI RAW output, letting you choose a recording approach for the production rather than relying on one format.¹ L-Log and HLG, preview LUTs and False Color add tools for working with color and exposure.

Detailed Viewing and Configurable Controls

The 5,760,000-dot OLED electronic viewfinder shows 100% of the frame, with selectable 60 or 120 fps viewing and a published 0.005-second delay. A tilting rear touchscreen and separate top LCD provide additional viewing options. Configurable controls, orientation-aware displays and distinct red photo and yellow video interfaces help keep handling focused on the task as you switch between stills and motion.

Dual-Media Storage and Studio Connections

CFexpress Type B supports high-data-rate workflows, while the SD slot accommodates familiar SD, SDHC and SDXC media. HDMI 2.1 Type A and USB-C 3.1 Gen2 connections join dedicated microphone and headphone ports plus a sync/timecode interface. These connections support studio and video setups with external equipment; recording media and external production equipment are not included.

All-Metal Construction and Telephoto Support

The camera is made in Germany with a magnesium and aluminum all-metal body, synthetic leather covering and IP54 splash protection. That rating does not mean the camera can be submerged. Black controls and an exterior without the red Leica logo keep the appearance understated. The telephoto lens has its own black-anodized magnesium and aluminum housing with dust and splash protection, plus a supplied tripod clamp and detachable shoe for lens-supported tripod work.

Leica FOTOS and Connected Creative Workflows

Leica FOTOS brings remote control, image transfers and firmware updates into an app-based workflow, with geotagging supplied through the app where permitted by country-specific legislation. WLAN connectivity requires Leica FOTOS. Camera-to-cloud through Adobe Frame.io supports connected production, while native tethering for Capture One and Lightroom Classic serves studio work. Leica Looks presets and Content Credentials round out the camera's creative workflow features.
