Onkyo Y40SCUC Muse Y-40 2-Channel Network Integrated Amplifier in Silver
The Onkyo Y40SCUC Muse Y-40 turns a complicated hi-fi stack into one elegant control and amplification center. Created for modern stereo listeners, it brings Onkyo's Japanese audio heritage together with network streaming, source selection, preamplification and high-power 2-channel output in a compact silver component. Connect passive bookshelf or floorstanding speakers, then move easily among favorite music, TV sound, vinyl and private headphone listening without filling the room with separate boxes.
The Y-40 is made to do more than simplify a system - it gives music confident, accurate speaker-driving power. Its full-digital Class D architecture is rated at 75 watts per channel FTC into 8 ohms with both channels driven, plus 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms at 1 kHz. That output brings energy and detail to a serious stereo setup, while DIRECT mode and adjustable bass, treble, balance and vocals let listeners choose between a more direct signal path and personalized sound shaping.
Music access is equally broad. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast open popular streaming and casting ecosystems through Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi.1 Bluetooth adds convenient playback from compatible devices, while USB-A welcomes stored music. A color information display provides clear visual feedback, and the Onkyo Controller app makes configuration and daily operation approachable. HDMI ARC folds compatible TV and gaming audio into the stereo system; an MM phono input welcomes a moving-magnet turntable; and multiple analog and digital connections make the Muse Y-40 a versatile centerpiece for old favorites and new sources alike.
Key Features
Powerful, Inspired Sound
Onkyo pairs Axign Class D amplification with MOSFET output devices to maintain accurate, high-current drive in a space-efficient full-digital design. The two-channel power stage is engineered to create a detailed soundstage while respecting the artist's intent.
Smart, Modern Interface
The 5.46 in LCD does more than identify currently playing content: it can present an analog-style VU meter, settings and other operating details. The Onkyo Controller app extends configuration and command to iOS and Android devices, including Wi-Fi setup, input changes, volume and sound adjustment.
Everything You Need for Epic Audio
Three stereo RCA line inputs make room for conventional components, while coaxial and optical terminals accommodate digital gear. A dedicated MM phono stage serves vinyl playback, USB-A reads music from storage, and HDMI ARC sends compatible television sound to the amplifier. Stereo pre-out and a 1/4 in headphone jack provide options beyond the main speaker outputs.
Built to Stir the Soul
The ventilated top plate carries the traditional San Kuzushi pattern, linking the Muse Series' clean appearance to Japanese craftsmanship. Precisely temperature-controlled circuitry eliminates the need for a cooling fan, supporting quiet operation in the listening room.
